I'd add 3D Mario to that list as well. 3D World managed to score 93 with a game that, although brilliant, was considered a bit unambitious by some compared to the Galaxy games. A new 3D Mario at NX launch, which I consider pretty likely, should be able to score that high. Other than that I completely agree. Reviewers have gotten significantly more conservative.

24 scores between 90 and 94

Game looks amazing, and apparently IS amazing. And with that, I'm done with forums until I get my hands on the game tomorrow! See you on the other side!

There will likely be another 20-30 reviews yet to go on metacritic as not all reviews get early copies and will post there review after purchasing their own copy.

In most cases after the initial burst of reviews the scores tend to be a little lower so I'd probably say a 93 will be the winning number after all the reviews come in.

Of note, there are 2 new review scores in the past couple days. They went live today. One was a 98 by impulse gamer, the other a 90 by lazy gamer. Without score weighting, those scores combined would not tip the 94 MC score in either direction.

The 2 scores before these were a 94 and a 90, and before that it was 4 100s in a row. Would love to see U4 go up to 95, but seems unlikely. 

EDIT:  THE OTHER SCORE BY LAZY GAMER WAS A 90 (not 94).
