According to the financial reports, Zelda for Wii U is now listed as 2017. Here is the pdf. You can use ctrl + F to find it.

This makes very little sense.

If the NX really arrives in 2017 and Zelda U is delayed for it's launch apparently, then what in the world is Nintendo going to sell in the holiday months?

Wii U has almost nothing going for it in the beginning of the year. It needs Zelda U at the end of it.

Do they even have like 200/300 k Wii U consoles left to sell in that period...?

Nintendo won't leave their holiday with nothing.
It could mean more unannounced games coming to the Wii U and maybe the 3DS.

Maybe Nintendo does have a secret WiiU title? It wouldn't be hard to create a small new IP for the holydays, or just make a 3DS game in HD. My vote is an Animal Crossing New Leaf HD, how hard would that be? They already have the HD assets from amiibo Festival, and they could bring it to the NX with little to no problem.

This is bad news. This means nothing else but some lame filler content for these holidays. Anything bigger would likely be announced already.

They should have let the Wii U go out with a decent or even good holiday so that some kind of enthusiasm can be transferred to the coming NX.

Now everyone knows that their most loyal Wii U customers are getting the shaft for the new platform. A rather bad way to leverage existing customers to the new platform.

someone is mad ^_^  You know i bought a Wii U at launch. my fave purchase ever. Dont regret it, im fine wiht moving on right now. And now i can choose if i want Zelda NX or Zelda Wii U. Its preatty much the same game , but i have more options

They must have SOMETHING. If not, their E3 is going to be worse than last year's. And that one was awful.

Nintendo changes its approach to the show every year. This June, Nintendo will focus its attentions on the upcoming game in The Legend of Zelda series. The Wii U version of the game will be playable for the first time on the E3 show floor, and it will be the only playable game Nintendo presents at the show, in order to provide attendees a complete immersion. Additional information about Nintendo’s E3 plans will be announced in the future.

 

 

Oh, my God, what is going on?Only Zelda U? Is that all they are going to show? They must have other things for the WiiU/3DS, even if they have to bring every unreleased japanesed title to the West. Something, one game on the show is laughable, even if it is Zelda U.
