You have no idea what saved time and money can do to people.

Why would they benchmark graphics on a non-cutting edge platform? They have the PS4K to show off graphics. It doesn't matter if future PS4 games look worse when future PS4K games look better than the current ones.

No no no that is not what I am saying.

Lets use Uncharted 4 as an example comes out soon.  For some reason lets assume it runs at 30fps at the current gfx level.  If they go to make Uncharted 5 and utilise the PS4K and it happens to run at 60fps. I would expect that the PS4 version run at 30fps but look just as good as Uncharted 4.

Imagine if they decided oh lets make it run at 60fps but make the game look half as good as Uncharted 4 on the PS4 to compensate. People would feel cheated that because the PS4K is out devs are choosing to waterdown PS4 games compared to the ones we currently seen released in the past.

Fair point but that's not what I mean. I don't necessarily think of better performance as an upgrade from 30 to 60 fps. I'm thinking more of games that currently struggle to reach 1080p and stable 30 fps with drops. With slight graphical downgrades they could run at a perfectly stable 1080p30. A game which barely runs on 30fps to get to 60fps would be too much of a graphical downgrade. 60fps upgrade would be for those games that already run at 45-50fps but are capped to 30.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Yep I guess I agree with what you are saying in that sense.  A small compromise to stabolise it at 30fps instead of having dips.

Thought you meant fps and load times parity so would require significant graphical downgrades.

if the ps4k happens its more likely that either the NEO or the PS4 regular version will have performance issues/bugs or other things malfunctioning because of different GPU versions and architecture then anything else. Lazy developers will just run the PS4 regular version on both and others will spend twice as much money to not screw up both, I think in the end it might even hurt the current owners because they get less time to test one version because they need to do double the work.

Obviously patches for games like Fallout and Dark souls could improve the framerate on the Neo but once again that resources not going into a new patch for PS4.

I just hope the rumours are not true and sony decides to launch the PS5 with backwards compatability earlier then expected, but thats wishfull thinking just like this topic.

I hope you are right but I doubt it.

X1 will have high settings and run like shit with reduced resolution. PS4 will run at medium with high res and stable framerate. PS4K will run at ultra and depending on the game at higher fps.

I see no fault in that. PS4 does not have to compete with X1 anymore. PS4K will cover that. PS4 owners will not sell their PS4 and get an X1 to get slightly better graphics when they have the option to trade in their PS4 for a much better console.

What? this doesn't make sense. Ps4 games are never going to run worse than XB1. Even if they trash the ps4 version, which seems high unlikely, and the resolution and effects are dropped to match XB1 weaker hardware, the ps4 version will still run faster.

Just imagine for a sec that most PS4 games ran at XB1 settings, the ps4 version would still be better.

There's no point in selling an already owned ps4, unless you need to have the cutting-edge, at which in this case is the PS4 NEO.
