^^^Agreed. I remember being able to beat Zelda: Link to the Past in less than two hours. Took a lot of practice, though.
To be honest SMG is the hardest mario game I've played and it took me 4 weeks of solid playing and a lot of help from internets to beat Phantom Hourglass. I think games are just as hard but gamers are getting better.
