Forums - Microsoft - Quantum Break Enjoys A Successful Launch Week In The UK As The #1 Game Across All Platforms

QB did well and part 2 should do even better.

Or you can focus that is a slow time of the year, and QB manages to be #1, and maybe the game will have legs. You already can have legs being #2, but is always better starting #1.

Tim and The Princes...

Good that it starts at number 1. Didn't have high expectations, so happy its selling well! Great job remedy!

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

MS can't ever get a break huh... Can't people just give a congrats to a successful start of a game these days?

Anyways, congrats to MS and QB. I hope this game ends up getting good sales.

Fortunately, the only one who've used the word flop is Aerys.

All of the others either congratulated, praised the game or pointed out that it was too early to say anything about sales numbers. Being a site dedicated to sales numbers I think their comments were justified and their reasoning fair.

Quantum Break is a great game and I thought it had no. 1 spot comfortably but it was actually quite close (Dirt Rally only 139 units behind). I'm sure QB will have very strong legs though. No matter what it's Microsoft's best selling new IP this gen. Congrats!

In the UK at least it's sales are lukewarm at best. It's not a flop but it isn't a big success either. reviews are good so there's hope for legs. it looked like a big budget title and was in development a long time so hopefully it has them.

I think critics paned Quantum Break a bit too much, especially with gamespot giving it a 6? I mean it doesn't knock the pants off gaming, but the review was obviously far too critical. It deserved an 80 in my opinion.

Also user score is 7.5, which makes me feel some reviewers were far too strict.

But the Meta is 77, it is similar to the user score.

Hell, even The Last of Us have 4 out of 10 reviews.

Why a comparison with another game is seen as a downplay?

Being number one doesnt tell the whole story, also we are at a videogame sales site.

Ive said in numerous times that Remedy is one of my favorite studios ever, and the main reason why i bought an Xbox One.

Im one of the few that still believes that exclusives do sell systems and are the main reason to purchase consoles.

You can like thé game, congrat the good dev Remedy and at thé same time say this wont sell well in your analysis ( which seem to be thé case , at least for UK ), selling less than The Order in Uk doesnt mean anything about the quality of the game, it's just à sales comparison, not à quality comparison.

When the 1st and 3rd comment are quickly about how it's not a great achievement, was due to bundles, and will likely flop, that is just sad. There is a time and place for this, but not immediately after celebrating something. Have some decency please.

I think he just doesn't like anything Microsoft, I think he has issues with them. Also I don't think he has an X1.

Proud to be a Californian.

Also selling less then the Order doesn't necessarily say bad news. Some might need to look at the long term. Remember when Forza 6 was considered a flop in the UK because it didn't make numbers similar to Forza 5? Now Forza 6 is on its way to outselling Driveclub.

Quantum Break looks like a flop from this angle. I'm having a hard time understanding why it sold so poorly. Was it the reviews? Or because its a new IP? Although I must admit, the preorders were pretty tepid up until launch.
