MMO house NCsoft has been an Unreal Engine 3 customer before, but it is extending its relationship with UE3 creator Epic Games with a new two-game partnership. NCsoft said Tuesday that it has licensed the UE3 game engine for two unannounced MMOs. The developer used UE3 in the previously-released Lineage II, and UE2 in the upcoming title Xteel.

In a statement, NCsoft Development Unit lead programmer Young-muk Choi commented on UE3's "well structured rendering pipeline" and "advanced lighting and shadowing systems."

Games that use UE3 include Epic's own Unreal Tournament 3 and Gears of War, 2K Games' BioShock and many other released and upcoming titles.
