Remeber that time last year when AMD supposedly won a few deals for at least a new gaming related product? The eagle eyed users in Reddit noticed a few interesting things in AMDs lastest earnings report. It's vaguely worded, as expected, making it perfect for wild speculation. Is it PS4 4.5? NX? I have no Idea. Heres the part in question:

"In our EESC segment, we had record shipments of our semi-custom SoCs powering the Playstation 4 and Xbox One game consoles.

Demand for game consoles looks strong for 2016 and we remain on track to generate additional revenue from new semi-custom business in the second half of 2016.

Game consoles -- we see units going up 2016 to 2015. We've also said in the enterprise embedded and semi-custom segment that we will be ramping some new design revenue in the second half of 2016.

We have new products being introduced in both the businesses with the new design wins in the second half on the semi-custom side."

NX being made by AMD was confirmed long ago.
If this is something new, its probably Xbox Two & PS4k, or slim versions.

That has to be either the NX or the PS4k, or a slim model for one or the other.

Back when we knew AMD had gotten the playstation and xbox, didnt we have word that they where working on more?

Sure it wasnt officially confirmed.... but how many other players make consoles?

Alot of people "assume" nintendo was the 3rd guy AMD was helping make a console chip, way back then.

They are talking in plural, so I think they are referring to multiple products.

Well, "ramping up revenue" at the end of the year could just mean chip production, not nesesarily when the target implementation(s) will be available. We could still see an early 2017 release. Also, theres the PS4.5 posibility to consider.
