Or maybe it's because of MS/Remedy hyping up this game for 2.5+ years saying stuff like "we will radically change the way FPS games are played" "this game is big" "This is the game that will make you own a xb1" etc. Reviewers don't just randomly get these ideas.

The only thing new the game has is its time-related stuff and that doesn't really live up to the promises made by MS.

Actually from a few reviews they do radically change the way this game approach the to a 3rd person shooter.  The question just like The Order is does it gel together to make for a good to great experience.  Just like The Order, it has mixed reviews because some people like it and some people do not.

I actually thought the review was quite glowing.  Can't wait to play.

I think at this point, the supposed XBOX tech(consoles in general) doesn't mean much now since you can see a lot of issues in the video from DF, and there is going to be a PC version which will most likely look better and run better. If anything, it's an engine tech showcase.

Remedy and the northlight engine, with the way it handles rendering and lighting should be praised. Performance-wise, it uses DX12, which the Vulkan API will be just as efficient at but DX12 is not for multiple platforms other than MS ones.

Also, 78 on Metacritic is not a bad score, please STFU about that, 78 is a good score. I have never understood people that think 80-90+ games are the only games that are good games. Game score doesn't scale with your fucking math test scores.

It has a lot of impressive tech, unfortunately compromised by a lot of compromises:
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2016-quantum-break-tech-analysis

+ Character models
+ Physics
+ Filmic full motion video look
+ Motion blur
+ Physically based rendering materials
+ Data streaming
+ Ambient occlusion close to HBAO+

- Image quality, temporal reconstruction doesn't really work in motion
- Shadows
- Temporal ghosting, black trailing artifacts around object silhouettes
- Inconsistent physics and no inverse kinematics (hands/arms clipping through walls)
- Texture popin
- Cross buy not available for physical edition
- Loading times
- Video integration, final quality does not justify download size (Bink video?)
- Low res volumetric lighting down to ps2 levels.

Ultimately, Quantum Break is one of the most technically accomplished games on Xbox One but it's not without its issues. Northlight produces beautifully detailed worlds with remarkable effects work and lighting but image quality just isn't where it needs to be. The filmic look works to an extent but visible aliasing is still evident in motion making it clear that the solution employed here isn't quite on par with what we witnessed in Rainbow Six Siege. The issues with shadow quality and general stability due to heavy reliance on screen-space data also impacts the look of the game at times.

DF does like the game better than who wrote the review.

The real triumph here is the way in which the game's technology benefits the core gameplay. Quantum Break is an absolute joy to play - perhaps the best game Remedy has made to date - and much of that joy is the result of its technology. That perfect mix of high quality animation, effects, and feedback just feels right. It's an highly satisfying game to play.

Tech does improve gameplay!

Anyway would be nice to see this run on PC.

I don't agree with the warning btw, the only difference would have been to take the curse words out, and as far as I know, VG doesn't restrict cursing unless it's politically incorrect with things like race, religion, direct verbol abuse to a user, obvious fanboyism to the extremes, or sexisim, which I violated none no matter how you'd want to spin it. It's a very general post stating that 78 is not in any shape or form a bad score, because it's not.

Its coz you told people to "please STFU about that"

And like I said, the only difference would be to take out the curse words, I can phrase it like a grade schooler, and it'd still be the same thing, but nobody would bat an eye at it. It's over-sensitivity. Are we to the point now that even cursing is not allowed on VGC? I mean, I've been taking breaks here and there, but if that's the direction, then it really has been going downhill.

This is chat you need to have with a mod, preferably through a PM with that mod. As far as can remember telling other users to shut the fuck up or STFU as you put it has always been moderated worthy.

As far as I know, I didn't target anybody nor have I directly attacked anybody. It's my opinion, I understand that not every country in the world has freedom of speech, but AFAIK, the internet has even more freedom than that. If certain users think I'm attacking them, that's their opinion, I have never named names, so sounds like a lot of BS to me.

Any further posts regarding the previous warning will be seen as spamming and will be moderated. Get back to the topic please. The matter will be discussed through PMs.

Shoot the mod a PM. Just a quick head's up letting him know of your issue.

Yeah, as you can see, been gone awhile, just followed his msg and found the msg section since I forgot where it was lol. Sorry about steering off the topic at hand.

I love seeing these ' gamers-turned wannabe developers' spend way too much time nitpicking insignificant crap vs calling it what it is: a great looking game. Who gives a crap.?
