Eventually, this will be the case, but not just yet. This is also meant to improve VR and any form of lag (ANY) will ruin the experience or make you ill.

But here's a thought, what if this wasn't a new piece of hardware, but rather software? What if developers have been given upgraded PS4 specs to work with and improved versions will be able to be played by users via PS Now? You can still buy this disc for the standard PS4 game, but you can stream a higher quality version through PS Now. Having played PS Now, I can say that it work very well. We also know that PS4 can output in 4K for things like videos on a USB stick and 4k photos, and services like Netflix can stream videos in 4k. So maybe Sony are not making new user-end hardware, but new hardware at their server end which will allow for improved games. What do you all think of that? |
you keep saying split user base. When its the same user base!!! All games will work the same just like on PC. Just more lag and lower quality on the old ps4 vs the new ps4.
This will drop the price of the original ps4 and create even more money for sony as most people wont care about the minor improvements.
but witcher 3 runs so bad on ps4 at 30fps with constant drops I guess sony said dam we need an upgrade and we need it fast.
ps4 has been out 2.5 years its half way done its life. So a PS4 S like IPHONE 6S is a genious idea.

s7 came out 11 months after s6 not 1 year.
