Forums - Sony - PSVR price: $399/€399/£349+more in OP, coming October

I thought so, yeah. I still don't believe in VR, but the price is fair to me if people are really interested.

What people forget is that you need the camera and at least I believe one controller too which is both not included in the $399 ;)

Haha, no way anyone is getting this at 550$ in Canada. Atleast I know I won't, and especyaly not at launch knowing Sony's track record for supporting their gimmicks.

Well people said the same thing about PSmove and the PS4 camera and look now how they are supported or required for PSVR now

Ouch, more expensive than the console.

I'd be surprised if this thing is a hit at that price.

If you’re planning on picking up a PlayStation VR headset next year, you might want to start saving up your allowance, as Sony Computer Entertainment Chief Executive Officer Andrew House is claiming it will be “priced as a new gaming platform.

The article is 6 months old. We all knew it would be expensive, what we didnt know is that it would be priced 200$ lower than the Oculus and 400$ lower than the Vive.

Everyone forgets that you need to buy the camera too if you don't own already one ;)

too much. should have been 250$. still excited for it, gotta catch up with the rest of the news thats came out for it.

PS worlds looks good actually.

I'm seeing people declare their intent to buy this after seeing the price... Shouldn't you guys take a look at the games that are compatible with this thing first?

A lesser man than I would have capitalized on this perfect PS4 shade set up.

PS4 shade? I'm not sure what you mean...

Seems about right, personally. Based on the price of other devices and they technology. I'm sure it will succeed nicely.

Hmm, pie.

Lol Canadian's complaining about the price despite it being the same as the Aussie price and our Dollars being 1:1 right now.
Anyway day 1 shipments here at EB are sold out -__-
Didnt expect it to happen so quick.

If its the same price as PS4 when it launched.

Im Guessing it wilk be around $500AUD? Or more? That is quite expensive on what it offers.......

PS4 was $550 at launch here, thinking PSVR will be around $599 though thanks to the Aussie dollar right now. Hoping it's no higher

Yep! Your Correct! EB Games opened the pre orders and it seems its the official price.  But also Buying the camera will make it a bit expensive. JB-Hi-FI also has the same price!

So... for someone who doesn't have a PS4... You're looking at...

350+400+60+50... so... 860 dollars. Ouch.

For the average PS4 Owner who needs either the move or the camera, you're looking at 450-500...

I don't see this taking off at these prices. VR may be a part of gaming's future, but the price has to come down first.

I think this generation was always going to be reserved for the tech enthusiasts. I think it'd be amazing if PSVR could reach 10m by end of the PS4's life.
