Forums - Gaming - Namco should take a long break from the Tales of series

When do u wanna see a new Tales game

and make a game built from scratch for next gen, a game to make the difference like Vesperia.

Current Tales games look like different skins to the same game, barren and empty. How long should the hiatus be? I'd say bring it back in 2018 with new graphics and art style in UE4.

Narp. Just like I enjoy the constant stream of Atelier, I've enjoyed yearly Tales too. Quality has been high enough that I've enjoyed each entry for separate reasons, plus I definitely think they've been moving in the right quality direction (aside from some story issues in Zestiria).

I'm not sure if I would agree here. As much as I loved Zestiria, it had some strange issues, story aside (which was a huge issue altogether ).

EDIT: as for the OP, if you want another Vesperia, the Tales Team needs money. Vesperia was possible because MS gave them a lot of money to develop it. We would need Sony, Ninty, MS or Bamco themselves to grant more budget to the Tales Team if we want to see something like that again.

To be fair, I would probably rate them Xillia 2 > Zestiria > Xillia > Graces F, but I still very much enjoyed my time with Zestiria.

i buy Persona 5 DAY 1, this masterpiece. And Ni No Kuni 2 DAY1.
But Tales of Berseria... later. Please...someday.. a new engine for Tales of.

It would be nice of them to take a break and not do a Ubisoft, though I would like for them to port the older titles to Steam (not locked at 30 though).

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

See, and this is where you stop making sense, Kresnik.

It could probably benefit from getting a small boost in terms of quality, to make sure the series keeps selling as it should. I agree.

I expect if they keep milking it with yearly releases it'll just stop selling. Didn't Zestiria sell less than the previous ones already? It's going into the typical downward spiral of milked games.

Haha.  I stick by what I said :P
