Forums - Sony - "Certain company" hiring for PS4 JRPG that blends Sci-Fi with Wild West (Wild Arms?)

Ehm...i don't follow your logic.

We didn't get F-zero, metroid, Suikoden or tons of others since 10 years, do you really wonder if ppl still are interested in these ? Seriously ?

As long as the game is good, ofc ppl are interested.

You're comparing some of the greatest games ever, with high sales and high reviews to a series with ~70% reviews and which in the end was published by 505 games who around that time published games like "I did it Mum", "Diva Girls: Diva's on Ice", "My Ballet Studio" and my favorite: "My Pet Dolphin... 2" (yes thats a 2 behind it).. Its safe to say the series fell a bit down after all those years.. do people really talk about how great Wild Arms is say compared to a game like Legend of the Dragoon?

Might not have been a crazy seller, but it was a beloved series.

Yes it can be compaired to "greatest games ever" (fzero, metroid, suikoden), imo and that of many others.

Id rather have a new Wild Arms, than a Metroid or Fzero, just saying.

I'd prefer a Legend of Dragoon 2. We got Wild Arms up to 4 or 5, let's give the elephant in the room some love first.

But LoD is not a Sci-Fi Wild West game xP

Doesn't mean I wouldn't prefer a LoD2 lol. If we're gonna revive one of Sony's dead JRPGs I'd prefer the one that only had one chance vs one that had four. That's not a knock to Wild Arms of course, wonderful franchise.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Well, that's very obvious I would also preffer another LoD over another Wild Arms xD, but I was guessing you were taking this news as a possibility of it, when it's not even related to it, but you weren't, just was saying that you would preffer that to happen.

Anyway, LoD Prequel > LoD Sequel.

Gimme the Dragon Campaign in all of it's glory already, Sony!

Well yeah, a prequel would fit so much better obviously! Plus that way they can sneakily name it something without a number, like they did with Second Son or Shadowfall, etc.

If anything either way I feel like a new game in either series would be a reboot essentially. With Wild Arms it'd probably be a "several hundred years later" ordeal so as to not alienate new players.

Can you be more specific, and less vague?

I just found your comment strange.

Perhaps I can try to elaborate it more.  What did you not understand in my comment?

"I like Wild Arms, but it never hit me as a Western lol." Did you look at the two comments before mine to see any relations between them?

I would love a Remake before anything, but if I could choose only one game it would be a Prequel

If they remade it in the same vein as Ratchet 2016 I'd be more than happy with that, because they could find a way to leave it open for a sequel.
