I think either Sony does a holidy console bundle or retailers will make their own bundles. GameStop will for sure.

I'm not even sure we'll get a price today. |
Most interesting line for the blog:
"We will be discussing the latest hardware and software"
This could be about the rumored hand contoller as well.

Did anyone here post an article about the patent for that?

I nearly did but was in a rush and didn't want to cut and paste all the pics.
The PS5 Exists.

Good news for fans of upcoming technology and VR enthusiasts, as new patents have emerged for a Sony gaming controller, which is in the form of a wearable glove. Sony filed these patents back in 2014, but they have just surfaced now, reports Gamespot.
It is believed this new glove will be used to control or interface with the PlayStation VR headset, although this has not been confirmed. It should also be noted that just because a company has filed a patent, it does not guarantee that the product will come to market anytime soon or at all.
Here are the device’s technical details for those curious engineer types out there. It utilizes what is called a “flex sensor,” which is a spread-out potentiometer, and estimates the overall resistance according to fingers’ movement. The device also makes use of a contact sensor to determine when fingers make contact.
Let’s talk about its applications; if the patents are anything to go by, it seems that Sony wants to bring hand gestures and motion-sensing to the world in a bigger way. Besides gaming, it has numerous business as well as medical applications. Imagine a business meeting where all participants wear gloves and are able to rotate, scale, and view documents and collaborate in real time.
It appears that Sony took inspiration from Robert Downey Jr.’s motion-sensing gloves in the third edition of Iron Man series; you can now imagine more possible applications. Use these gloves in tele-medicine domain and we get medicine professionals operating patients from distance.
If you were into gaming back in 1989, The Power Glove would most certainly come to mind. It was a Nintendo peripheral, but was developed independently, and has now become an icon of the 90’s gaming scene.
A question that comes to mind is that if Sony filed these patents in 2014, why have they revealed it now? Has the company been secretly working on this glove or was this project put on hold due to lack of hype or demand? It could be possible that with the recent emergence of VR technology, Sony believes that it is finally time to unveil the “Minority Report VR Glove,” or whatever it will be called.
I did a quick forum search under 'move' and 'powerglove' and couldn't pull up anything relevent, but I'm still not sure. I know I read about this from an investing forum and don't recall seeing it on here. Someone else may plagiarize this plagiarization if they want to create a new topic. I don't curr

To be honest, I don't think graphics are going to be much of a factor in the early years of VR. Yeah, you're going to get certain sites and forums making a big deal out of it but I think the general conversation will concern 'the experience'. |
That's possible, but the suggested minimum hardware specs I've seen floating around for VR on the PC seems a tad beyond what the ps4 is sporting. Then again, it's probably mostly speculation until we start seeing the games.
I'm personally hopeful Sony's works out as, while i just finished upgrading my PC and it seems like it's capable of most VR in the immediate future, the other options just seem too pricey for a new platform. Even with Sony's headset and ps4 seeming a little dated, one has to imagine Sony saw something they liked to green light the project and the large library they say is coming.
Nintendo has proven (to me at least) that you can make some truly great games even if the hardware isn't cutting edge, and I have a feeling we're going to see this with Sony's VR. The visuals might not be as great, but I wouldn't be surprised if the owners of the oculus/htc etc wind up jealous of the library.
Besides, I have to imagine we'll be impressed enough by the new experience that we'll hardly notice the difference.
