They've 'admitted'? I don't recall Sony ever suggesting PSVR was going to be as powerful as Oculus so I'm not sure what the ground for them 'admitting' is. I have seen some clickbait articles on N4Gs using it though.

Perhaps "admitted" isn't the right word if you want to be a semantics nazi. They've shared the expected but still disappointing-to-many news that it's not as good as the Oculus? :p

I'm hoping it's good enough that it can be my VR this gen as there's supposedly a large library of games coming for it, but it really seems like the PS4 hardware would struggle with VR. Here's hoping they found a way!

To be honest, I don't think graphics are going to be much of a factor in the early years of VR. Yeah, you're going to get certain sites and forums making a big deal out of it but I think the general conversation will concern 'the experience'.

If I have time tonight I will do some basic metrics on public expectations.

Exactly. What we've been shown so far is totally acceptable for what first gen VR should look like.
