I used to love this show when I was a kid and I think it could become an awesome party game: Legends of the Hidden Temple.
Ive always wanted to have a LotHT game, because I wanted to be on the show really bad when I was a kid. It was probably too lame before to make a game out of. But now that we have online, it wouldn't just be 1-2 players playing against bots, it would be 1-2 players playing against 10 other friends, family, or other people.
It would be a PSN game and be released on Wii optical disc. For the moment I would snub the 360 due to file size limitations on XBL and no motion control.
The big feature of it would be 12 player online co-op. Allowing for the 6 original teams of the show to be in every single game (2 player/team).
For those of you who don't know LotHT
LofHT combines: puzzle solving, trivia knowledge, and physical mind and strength that would offer great gaming fun.
Each game has a theme or a item that needs to be found that is located in the temple (Holy Grail, Harriet Tubman's walking stick, etc.)
It has 4 stages to the game.
1. The Moat, where you try to make your way across the moat using things like wobbly bridges, rafts, etc. Motion control would be needed here to help keep your balance, while simatneously having to use other buttons to advance across the moat. If you fall into the moat, you have to go back. First 4 teams to make it safely across the moat, advance to....
2. The Stairs of Knowledge: Here players are asked trivia about mythology, geography, and mythology. The questions usually revolve around the theme of the day. Top 2 teams advance to....
3. The Temple Games - usually a very physical challenge. Sometimes having to climb up columns (like rock walls) or climb up a shaky net to get to something, once again, I'd like this to be done by Motion Control. Snap the DS3 or Wiimote up to jump higher, as the net shakes tilt your controller the other way to shift your bodyweight and stay on. Winners of the challenges received a portion of the Pendant of Life. Up to 2 Pendants possible. Top team advances to...
4. The Temple. The temple is made up of a dozen or so rooms. In each room there is a puzzle that needs to be solved to advance to the next room. The objective is to retrieve the object of the day. Inside some of these rooms are these scary ass Mayan guards who will take you by suprise. If you had a Pendant of Life you could trade it in for your safety, otherwise you lose and you have to leave the Temple and your teammate gets a shot at retrieving the object. The object is usually burried pretty deep, so you got to solve quite a few of these rooms to get to it, once you have it, you run for the opening again and try to get the object out of the temple. Thats the game.
Games would take max. of 20 min. Obviously less for the losers of the game.
Online Leaderboards would be kept for trivia knowledge, retrieving the lost item, and times on all the different challenges.
I would have a blast hooking up with one of my friends, going online and cometing against 10 other people in this game.
What do you guys think? Good Idea or Bad Idea.
