Forums - General - Dallas, TX says boo to red light cameras, yay to money.

Since you all have gone off to talk about motorcycle, I'm gonna talk about how much I hate speeding cameras and that is "Big Brother" or "the Benefactor". Look when I'm driving 600 miles to get some where putting the cruse control just doesn't work for me because I get tired and start to does off. And hell In some areas the average speed is 85 and it's not a problem. Then we allow on other roads these huge speed reduction or "speed traps" so the local town can gain some money.

And if i'm driving through the middle of the midwest in the desert what does it matter when there are like no other cars. These camera's should be illegal. But they are spreading like wildfire. I'm going to tint my windows and shoot down every camera I see. especially when some of these speed limit are utter crap.

"Back off, man. I'm a scientist."

Your theories are the worst kind of popular tripe, your methods are sloppy, and your conclusions are highly questionable! You are a poor scientist. Especially if you think the moon landing was faked.

I love how people sit here calling other people "bad" drivers when they're probably bad themselves. We all have our own driving habits, some worse than others, but you don't get to call the kettle black you stupid little tea pots. :/

That's an idiotic statement. You don't have to be a world class performer to know when a singer stinks just as you don't have to be a perfect driver to know when someone else's driving stinks.

Not only does your post fail for directly insulting other posters, but you couldn't even use that expression correctly which makes it fail even harder.

The phrase "Pot calling the kettle black" is an idiom, used to accuse another speaker of hypocrisy, in that the speaker disparages the subject in a way that could equally be applied to him or her. In former times cast iron pots and kettles were quickly blackened from the soot of the fire. If personified into animate objects, the pot would then be hypocritical to insult the kettle's colour.

The real irony is your account name. :(

Screw motorcyclists. It's guys on bicycles that suck. Riding in the middle of one lane roads wen there are sidewalks and bike paths that could be used.

I'm well acquainted with the expression thank you.  I'm just amused that you only look up its definition after you've used it.

And again, you insult me.  Why do you feel the need to insult me for pointing out your mistaken logic?

Actually no. I didn't need to look it up, but apparently you needed a lesson in the expression as you didn't quite understand it. Oh well. :(

People thought that the government had a way to perform a public good AND make money at it. They were right about the good, and wrong about the money. Perhaps they need to be reminded of the purpose of government?

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.
