I thought someone dig up some 10 years old thread ! That would be great, but a company is not great by its past and name, but by the people that are here, and the advantages the company has (lot of money, its own hardware, franchises million-sellers for years, etc.). And after 10 years of lay off, mediocre games, downsizing, and the most famous people leaving, unfortunately I can't see any reason for a dormant, fantastic development power still be there. But it's crazy how Sega was able to makes so many great games in so many genres.

Yeah true, but imagine they had Evolution making Outrun, Epic making Golden Axe, Ubisoft making Coloums |
Holy crap. You want ubisoft to make columns after they messed up Tetris?
Anyways, SEGA tried outsourcing and that didnt go so well, sadly. I would be all up for more SEGA games, aslong as they are good.I would be beyond excited if they made a new Panzer Dragoon saga or Skies of Arcadia.
But, with that said, i also know what SEGA has become. Its not so much SEGA but Sammy with the SEGA name. I know they can't deliver on these legacy's. They have defiled the Shining series, prevented the west from playing the Phantasy star online series, between many other disastrous atempts at revivals (altered beast/golden Axe). But if they could find their sense, there would be nothing that would please me more than to have SEGA back to their greatness days.
They definitely do have some great IP and games, but they do questionable things :p

What many people don't realize is that part of what drove Sega was the need to push their own hardware that in itself was 50% or even more of what made them great. They knew their own hardware and had to push it to compete unlike being third party where it's mainly about numbers, this is why their IPs were great they were developed to push a platform against the competition rather than just be another face in the crowd of someone else's library.
