If they do reveal it before E3, I guarantee a Direct. 

Actually, I won't be surprised if this is more about the leaks than anything. They've got their ninjas working :P

In terms of amiibo, they really don't have much left planned at the moment. The AC ones are pretty much done, the Smash amiibo a are already either announced or released (or about to release) already, Mega Man gold is already mentioned, and Wolf Link will be with TPHD. Don't really know how to w much more amiibo will they plan in the future besides Star Fox Zero.

Actually they said through the summer, that means September too, and that doesnt mean some game with release date after September couldn't be show. But in any case no NX and no Zelda U.

I would be very surprised if they reveal their new platform via Nintendo Direct.

Oh trust me, they will find something. Yes, there will be the star fox zero amiibo I'm sure, instead of giving cool fonctionalities to our useless Fox and Falco amiibos that we already have collecting dust. But the fact that they have no more amiibo coming is exactly the reasons they will need to find something.

Smash amiibos sales are droping cause there is so few new ones coming out. So what did they do, they made that disgracefull AC Amiibo Festival game that no one saw coming or wanted. The sole reason they made this game is to have excuse to launch a AC Amiibo line that are totaly useless and that no one asked just to get $. (They keep saying that they have a problem with ppl buying Amiibos for colecting purposes and not for gaming purposes yet they keep launching these useless amiibos that never gonna see any use). So I bet they will make up some crappy game for the sole purpose to sell more amiibos. They need a new line to milk to replace the smash and AC line that are coming to a end. Maybe a Mario amiibo game so they can sell Waluigis, Koopa, Boo and Goomba amiibos. Or a Pokémon line of amiibo using the 20th aniversary as an excuse. One thing I'm certain, they will find something, if not for this Direct, for atleast E3. 

I also expect the announcement of a pricecut to $199 for Wii U. After this direct, I think they will have another one or an event during the next 30 days to announce the NX. E3 will be NX focused with or without a direct/event before E3.
