I'm worried this game is going to disappoint. It's a very big exclusive for Microsoft and would be nice if it was a hit.

Except that it's not exclusive, it's a multiplatform game.

My question is how long was this game in development? It was announced in early 2013 and ”gameplay" was shown at E3 2013 so it must have been in development for at least a couple years at that point. So at least a 5 year dev cycle probably more if you include preproduction.

Microsoft Windows is quite different then a PC release. If game like gear of wars 4 or Sea of thieves also come to Microsoft windows, that mean you will need to buy Xbox live account in order to play online.

It is absolutely a Microsoft exclusive. That can't be argued.
