If Cloud and Shulk met in a battle arena, shulk had his monado and his visions and his arts and Cloud had all his attacks and so on. WHO WOULD WIN?

Cloud:

Shulk:

Shulk, because of his premonition habilities. He's a hard to hit man :P

If it's base Shulk (Monado I) Cloud stomps due to the Monado not being able to cut through people. If it's Monado II, Shulk wins after one hell of a battle due to premonition, speed and shield (although Cloud also has some chances of winning here due to Materia, superior sword skills and other things). If it's Shulk at his prime this wouldn't even be called a battle: Shulk does with Cloud whatever he wants to do without any possible resistance on Cloud's part. At certain part of Xenoblade, Shulk is an almost if not omnipotent being with absolute controll over anything and everything.

Edited the thread title so it's not all caps. :P

but why? a random thread maker needs to keep making a living. The caps draws attention doesnt it? well jokes aside. Should i stay away from full out caps in my threads in the future?

Exactly he can even decide of what (SPOILERS!) universe they gonna live in, and he does slay a god. But I would say shulk with the monado 2, because he needs to even be able to slice through people.

Yeah, Monado I and Jesus Shulk would be unfair either for him or for Cloud. Monado II should be his weapon in order to make this battle somewhat interesting.

I think they both have chances of winning because both are superior to the other in some aspects (Cloud is a better swordman, his magic and summons are completely overpowered... but Shulk can use the Monado abilities to adapt to almost any situation and his vision powers are OP). But I think Shulk wins after a long and very intense battle.

I would definetely pay for see this in an anime style/CGI xD

Problem is, Shulk has four distinct levels of power. With Monado I level, Cloud wins. At Monado II normal, its a contest. At Monado II late game, It starts leaning towards Shulk (he does fight a god to a stalemate in this form). However, Monado III is just patently unfair to Cloud as he who holds the True Monado is, for all practical terms, Omnipotent. The only person Shulk can't kill at that point is Alvis because Alvis IS the Manodo aka the Monad aka GOD (not a god, THE God). I mean, Shulk didn't just beat a god with the Monado III, he utterly curbstomped him. It wasn't even a contest. So yeah, in orders of power, I say the winners would be Cloud, Draw, Shulk, Shulk.

Sorry folks but the clear winner without a doubt is Cloud. This is a guy that fought against someone with the power of God, and in his disposal he has the ultimate summoning, and with a clever combination of materia, he cannot die. I mean it, even if Cloud HP drops to 0 (ZERO) Phoenix will just revive him, and this is how.

Ex: (Phoenix + Final Attack) (Knights of the Round + HP Absorb) + Mime

Some other random materia combos, and you can come up with a lot more:

(Demi + Quadra Magic)  Quadra Magic + Contain / W-Magic = Octuple damage in one go!

With that undisputed factual evidence, it'll seem like an unfair fight, but it is what it is. Cloud wins.

Shulk is my man :)
Even though I love FF7, and cloud is pretty badass.... I just love the time mechanics more.

I think cloud might win it, but voted Shulk.

There are many types of Gods. The power Shulk has at the end of the game is the one of an omnipotent God. Literally, he has complete control over the universe, he can do and undo anything at his will. In fact, he redone his universe the way he liked at the end of the game. It's like if the universe was a computer system, Cloud one of its programs and Shulk had, not only the full powers of the admin to control all of its features, but also the competence of disassemble the physical computer itself. Shulk could do with Cloud anything he wanted and Cloud could do nothing to fight back.
