Forums - Gaming - What if all publishers started giving you the PC version bundled with an Xbox game?

So....  Now that it has been announced that if you preorder Quantum Break for Xbox you will get the Windows 10 version for free(ish), do you think this would help sales for a game overall if this becomes a new thing?  By that I mean you could buy an Xbox game and get the Windows 10 version as well.

I'll be honest, I am an achievement whore for better or worse and it keeps me tied to the Xbox ecosystem.  I have several PC's that can run games in better resolution and quality than the One or the PS4 and my HTPC is hooked up to the same TV, but I *NEVER* play it.  I would rather play games on my Xbone because of the achievement system and online experience but I have a feeling that given the chance, I will be playing  Quantum Break on my HTPC now that I can get both in one package.

I doubt most publishers could pull off this same kind of deal.  Or that they would even want to, but I wonder what would happen if all Microsoft first party games got the same treatment?  Pay once and play anywhere becomes more of a reality.  It would be even better if they allowed cross platform play but given their track record I doubt that would happen even more than getting both versions for one price.

so if I own a gaming PC I'll buy the game on XB1 cause I can get a free copy for my PC.....

this is one of those things that sound good on paper or in a forum but is completely meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

Unless of course it can be abused. Then it would have value. At least to the consumers that are smart enough to flood eBay with digital sale codes of their game. but that's not going to happen.
