Policy-wise, Trump is considerably more reasonable that most people give him credit.

However, if he wants to become president, he will need to reform his character, as his ego in its current state could contribute to bad decisions and hasty action.

He already pretends to have won the primaries (starting to jab at the democrat candidates), while he truly still has a long way to go - once the lesser moderate candidates start dropping out, the remaining establishment member (hopefully Kasich, but that's off topic) will most definately still challenge his run.

What disturbed me the most was his comment on Putin - He must be intelligent, since he called Trump smart. I wouldn't even disagree - but for different reasons. Putin chose the potential candidate that was easiest to manipulate, making full usage of his ego - and Trump is eating out of his hands, for a little bit of praise. I highly doubt that Putin is actually attempting to support a politician that he genuinly thinks best for the United States.

Bet with PeH:

I win if Arms sells over 700 000 units worldwide by the end of 2017.

Bet with WagnerPaiva:

I win if Emmanuel Macron wins the french presidential election May 7th 2017.

Trump's ego is a big part of why he's popular in the first place. He's a smart guy, his public persona is a calculated one. He will adjust as necessary.

Kinda like George Bush's Texas twang while being born and educated in Connecticut.

Trump wants to improve relations with Russia, so of course he gladly accepts Putin's praise, and of course he would be the one that Putin decides to praise in the first place.

If he were to back down at this point and start being more humble, that's one of the few things that likely would make him lose support.

The reason why Trump is even popular in the first place is because of his inflated ego ...

Take that away and his chances of becoming POTUS lowers ...

People find him entertaining. That is all. He also happens to share similar, often racist, foreign policy views as the cliche conservative.

What comment are you talking about?

He's a businessman. You can't be successful and modest...well, you can't be a billionaire and candidate by going from edgy to modest. Just doesn't work.

His bluffs are what gives him the power to make his words turn into action(even if it's something as terrible as a wall).

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

A business man who has lost and made billions without an ego?

You need that character to take the risks that bring the bigger rewards,
