Over the few years or so I noticed a trend where mobile gaming advertising went from non-existent, to prominent, to utter dominance in ads I was seeing through various mediums.
Gaming advertising was never close to film for me in terms of market saturation growing up. it almost felt like a treat or novelty to see an add for a game growing up. While it has increased some for certain major console releases (ex: Call of Duty) seeing th epast 2-3 years how mobile games like Candy Crush, Game of War, or Mobil Strike have come to make up ~90% of gaming advertising I see these days. After that I'd say ~8% is PC games and ~2% is home or handheld console titles. I have to seek out games via news sites or companies making them sites or social media.
What is your perception of games that get advertised? Do you notice a difference based on medium (print, television, online, etc.)?
