Forums - General - Did anyone here NOT own a PS2?

I'v never owned one, just every Nintendo console. I borrowed a friends ps2 to play a couple game (Mainly GTA:SA, VC) but could never bring myself to buy one.

How can one not own a Ps2 console and still can him/herself a gamer? I'm serious, you're missing out on a lot of great games that simply have to be experienced.

because just maybe there isn't enough hours in the day when you got a full time job, full time uni and a normal life.

You don't need to own every console to be considered a gamer. everyoen has their own taste.

Add me to this list.

I built a new PC instead of getting a PS2.  My best friend has quite the collection of PS2 games and he's pretty happy to let me come over whenever and play them.  ^_^

Of course, this generation he built a new PC and I wound up with a Wii so the positions have kind of been reversed.  But I'm fine with that.  Share and share alike!

No Sony for me:P

Self-proclaimed, biggest Resident Evil Fanboy of VGChartz!

I had it for about couple of months before it broke on me.
got Xbox and have been a fan ever since.

Still thinking about getting PS3 when the 80G comes out bundled with MGS4.

I never had a PS2. But I did have a:

NES
SNES
Virtual Boy
N64
Wii

Game Boy
Play It Loud! Game Boy
Game Boy Pocket (original silver without LED battery light)
Game Boy Pocket (later one with LED battery light)
Game Boy Light
Game Boy Color
Game Boy Advance
Game Boy Advance SP
Game Boy Micro
DS
DS Lite

So I'm just missing a GameCube and the second Game Boy Advance SP with the stronger backlight.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Many PS2 games where also released on Xbox, and a few where also released on GC. So someone with an Xbox and a GC (like me) did have a huge library of games available. Actually, I think that the only kind of games truly missing to the Xbox/GC was J-RPG.

Moreover, people generally have friends, so with a couple of friends you generally have the possibility to play every console.
