What does the 3DS unit sales versus playstation and number of 1m sellers have to do with the mobile market?
http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2015-06-15-mobile-pushes-japanese-games-industry-to-record-usd9-6b-value
Japan total gaming revenue in 2014 9.6B. Mobile gaming revenue 5.8B, PC gaming revunue .6M, All console hardware and software 3.2B
Nintendo IR 2014: Total sales japan (hardware and software) 1.14B (24.6 % of their overall revenue)
So just from those data points alone we know that the mobile sales were 5x more than of anything Nintendo put out in Japan in 2014. 3DS sales fell in 2015. So yes I'm claiming that mobile is killing everything in Japan because it is, and simple fact checking would led you to the same conclusion.

Are you seriously trying to say that it is unusual for a dedicated gaming device to see a decline in its fifth year on the market?
3DS vs. PS matters because if you are talking about mobile killing everything, how come that a system that is supposedly part of a dying market can pull off similar numbers to the successful systems of the past?

Well at least we can agree that my comment about mobile crushing everything was not far from reality... it is the reality. We are going to have to agree to disagree then with everything else. My reference to the 3ds falling had nothing to do with length of time the device was available but to the gap between mobile and traditional gaming consoles for 2015, im willing to bet its going to increase once we get 2015 numbers.
As for your second sentence, you been here long enough to know that different criteria/situations affect sales and that the direct comparsion is far from fair but whatever.
