Until Dawn sold a mil already!?... I'm impressed.

It's good, it was released on the leading console, it had some marketing, and it's the kinda game that fares well on YouTube/Twitch and by word of mouth. The deck was stacked in its favor, but still a good thing seeing something original do this well.

Not really, compared to nintendo yes, but Nintendo consoles survive off nintendo games where Microsoft and Sony don't only survive off first party.

yeah thats what i was comparing it to. just came from the nintendo thread before i posted this, and there were 40 titles listed. that is a ton of games for one publisher.

The ps4 has been out a lot shorter period than the 3DS and Wii U.  They won't catch them most likely but when this gen is over the gap will be much smaller.

Great games, weak sales. They deserved more, but seeing how diverse PS4 library is (even Vita's) I can understand why they are not selling that great.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

If you look at Destiny, Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, FIFA, Far Cry, and Assassin's Creed sales, it becomes clear, people buy this system for third party multiplats.

Yep. Nintendo does create tonnes of games and sells quite well. Thats why if they just get hold of that third party support, then their console will be one awesome thing to have.

Pocky Lover Boy!

I only have TLOU, KZ and BB. Sony still yet to release GT which i think would be reach a million fast.

this.

Sony has never really in the history of the Playstation pushed the system with their own IP. they have like the opposite business strategy of Nintendo. Third party titles (think Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty, etc.) are what make their systems sell

its nice that Nintendo dominates as the biggest video game software developer in the world but that could be seen in a bad light too as they HAVE TO push out tons of good games for their consoles because third party is entirely MIA

it sort of does speak volumes of Nintendo's potentially ability to have a massive console hit if they combine their console/handheld market and get the third party publishers back

currently though Sony and Nintendo are polar opposites, one holds itself up and the other is held up by third party

that's true, GT is definitely one of their bigger franchises
