Forums - Sony - Palmer Luckey; PSVR not as "high end" as Rift.

Which VR headset do you plan on buying?

Oculus Rift 13 4.13%

HTC Vive 9 2.86%

PSVR 197 62.54%

Undecided but will probably buy one 31 9.84%

Undecided but probably won't buy one 13 4.13%

Won't be buying a VR headset 52 16.51%

Total:315

Razors OSVR is looking like it might hit the 300$ mark (dev kits atleast).
People that dont think Sony can do it for under 400$ are mistaken.

My money is still on 349$ price tag for PS VR.

xbone has hololulens but is an early stage and is far way from what we see on videos and e3 but definatly is more indresting than VR
Also with oculus and a xbone you can virtual be in a room to virtual play the xbone games inside that room that is insinde on oculus that you are play on your room and your tv in real life....yeah.... that.....i can't find that video where is it?

Granted they can fix the narrow fov of hololens and actually get it out for an affordable price, I still don't see how it is more interesting than VR?
That minecraft in your room demo looks pretty cool, yet why not be in the world, instead of still sit in your room.

Hololens will be cool for multiplayer games playing out on the table in front of you, it definitely has local social possibilities which VR can't provide. However how much is that going to cost, a headset for each player. Hololens will have a smaller subset of games that are suitable for it. Ofcourse once the fov issue is fixed, a simple shutter can turn it into full VR. It still will be more expensive for just a few more games.
Hololens has tons of potential, yet for gaming it's rather limited.  Sure in a couple decades you might have a simple lightweight headset, not much more than your average sunglasses that does both. For now Hololens is the next Illumiroom.

Here's that infamous video https://youtu.be/RE6GtnAXQSs?t=205

Sure, you can play xbox one games on OR at a lower resolution, in a virtual room. You can hear the crickets in the room after the announcement. Of the 1200x1080 per eye, the actual (still 2D) game only takes up less than a third, maybe half in pixel density. Completely pointless, just stream it to a tablet if you need a second screen.

Ugh, I forgot about that video. It's painful.

Those smug dudes laughing at it... jeez.. and his "did she crash? is that why some laughed?".

Brutal.

And the oculus guy about the controller "its one of the best in the world".

Dude should outright say its better than the PS4 one atleast, imo.
