Resident Evil 4 completely rejuvenated the franchise and was the biggest game the year it came out. Don't expect Capcom to do anything that could threaten the quality of a game with such high expectations.

I need to start playing DMC4 soon. My brother was supposed to have bought it, but he is dragging his feet.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. I don't really trust PSU because they like to put a fanboy spin on a lot of things.

I also don't know how this turned into another shitfest about why RE5 Wii would be a crime and will never happen or whatever. If a Wii version does happen it's not going to be announced on a DVD.

As a former employee of of PSU I resent this remark. PSU tries to be as unbiased as possible.  I know most of the current staff.  Most own every console or at least another "rival" console.

That's the problem... Capcom can't do anything. It was already made perfect, but the guy who made RE everything that it is is now gone. I fully expect the single worst main series Resident Evil game ever made in RE5.

@naz

i wouldn't judge a game so fast before there are any storyline details and gameplay videos

There is a good chance you are right.  I think expanding everything that made RE4 great will be more than enough to satisfy the hungry fans though.  They definitely have a lot to live up too, and it is quite probable that RE4 will be a better game than RE5 simply because of how good RE4 was.

I only speak from my experience with their "unbiased reports." I wasn't even aware of them until I signed up to an FF13 board last year. Someone was hyping an article they had written about an SE interview hinting at a new game to be announced. PSU's "version" of the interview twisted and changed all instances of gamers and platforms to refer to the PS3. In acuality what SE was hinting at were the handheld KH games. Let's just say that article was looking pretty bad after that.

Akuma-

Yes because if there was a Wii version it would make the game sell less total copies.. that makes sooooo much sense.

Wait... isn't COD5 going to be on the Wii? Woops there goes your sad theory about if it sells well on PS360 it won't be on Wii... COD4 was too far along by the time Activision realized what a monster the Wii was turning into. Oh, and PES- that sold pretty good on the 360 and PS3.. and looky here a PES:Wii. That is an amazing theory there buddy.

The only reason they would not port it to Wii is because they don't want to ruin the RE5 experiance on Wii(bad port or shoddy graphics).

Please tell me that if they had redone RE4 with better graphics(or whatever) it would have sold as well as it has on the Wii on the 360? or PS3?

RE has an audience on the Wii, it would not suprise me if they did something about it. Unless they hate money of course.

The PS3(and maybe 360, although they don't seem to be as bad) fanboys need to face the fact that "their" console of choice is not doing too hot, not terrible, just not great, and the Wii is doing awsome. Many of those franchises that you feel "belong" on your beloved console may just be multiplatform.... or you might not get them at all do to the extravagent dev cost.

COD3 was on the wii, COD4 wasn't. COD6 won't be on the wii. Could RE4 have sold better on 360 with upped graphics? Maybe. Not PS3, given the fact that they probably bought the PS2 version already.  Funny you should mention PES. Which system did that sell the most on? PS3, PS3, 360, PSP, then wii with a paltry .07M. You will see the RE franchise on the wii, you won't be seeing RE5 there for the same reaso you won't see DMC4, LP, Dead Rising, Street Fighter 4, etc.

People have always been talking about how RE4 was a great game. I played it on a PS2 and i kind of agree. It has great gameplay, graphics and the over-the-shoulder view is great. But i remember hating the story. RE 1 to 3 was about Umbrella and the breakout of the virus and people trying to survive it, and suddenly Leon is the bodyguard of the president´s daughter and has to save her from some strange people in Spain with the damn La Plaga. Did someone else not liked the story too?

The franchise needed some changes overall, so I am kind of glad they went with a different story. Freshened things up.
