Half the enemies I kill turn into blue ghosts and I recieve no experience points for killing them. These enemies are around the same level as me so i don't understand what is going on.

Hmmm, can't remember that, sorry. I didn't do most of the optional quests though. Perhaps there is a quest you can do to stop them, or an ability.
