My 2010 HP pavilion was worth $400 when I bought it and the GFX card I upgraded to cost me $180 after a $20 rebate. I can play 95% of the games at 60 FPS at ultra settings ;o. The other 5% are 45-55 fps l0l @Topic - I doubt VR is gonna do much period especially for PC. If anything majority of people who invest on VR on PC will more than likely get it for hentai games :p |
I went about the same route. Paid about $450 for a refurbished HP a couple years back. It is an i3 and 8 GB RAM. I put a R7 260X in it for about $110. I had to buy a better power supply though which cost about $40-50. My PC isn't that good but it can play most games. Cost me around $650 for a semi decent computer (thinking about picking up a SSD considering the prices have dropped). I love desktops and the ease of upgrading them but I don't see the market really expanding anymore.
