Forums - Gaming - Eurogamer reviews PS4 and Xbone in 2015

Not sure why there's so much salt after reading the articles. Is it that bad to point out Sony's first party lineup was rather lackluster this year? Or that the system is selling partly due to word of mouth and Microsoft mistakes? Sony delayed their big 2015 title and clearly felt sales allowed them a little leeway. Nothing wrong with that. Especially when they have moneyhat deals with various big third party games.

2016 looks a lot better but this is a review of 2015. Also I agree with him on the Horizon name. Sounds very generic.

Its not just about Japan and a Niche game. Its clear as day which company is trying and which one is sitting in the high chair watching.

Are you implying that Sony is not trying, just because the holiday season of 2015 relied heavily on 3rd party content?

2013 with launch saw Killzone and Knack
2014 saw The Last of Us, MLB 14, inFamous Second Son, Driveclub and LittleBigPlanet 3
2015 saw Bloodborne, MLB 15, Until Dawn, Uncharted Collection and The Order 1886

2016 is going to have Uncharted 4, Gran Turismo Sport, MLB 16, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last Guardian, Ratchet and Clank, Dreams, Gravity Rush 2 and Detroit: Become Human.

The 2016 is retail only, Sony Published. When you look beyond the published games and look at the deals Sony have actively persued with 3rd party publishers, we get to see the likes of Street Fighter 5 on the PS4. Final Fantasy VII Remake. Dragon Quest. No Mans Sky. Ace Combat. Star Ocean. Shenmue. Ni no Kuni. Not trying? Yeah, right.

Sony has released enough games for the general public to see it as the go-to videogame console on the market. With the sheer number of exclusive titles appearing on the console throughout the next 12 Months, the numbers are about to go through the damn roof. Think of it as a boxing match. One of the fighters just unloaded everything they had in one round while the other fighter stood and evaded every damn shot thrown

A lot of Sony teams were actively supporting the PS3 into 2013. The Last of Us, Gran Turismo 6 and God of War: Ascension were 2013 games. When you consider that it takes 3 years to develop an engine and a videogame, it makes sense that a bunch of big hitters have been missing. 2016 fixes that problem and then some.

You forgot to include the definitive edition of Beyond: Two Souls for 2015. ^_-

Another one of these Pro Xbox articles, ignoring the fact that the Xbox One had no exclusives up until the holiday season. And ignoring the countless stream of games not avaible on Xbox from Japan and independent devolopers. Bloodborne is the highest rated exclusive on Metacritic.

They also dont make another article for Nintendo like they dont exist

Its not just about Japan and a Niche game. Its clear as day which company is trying and which one is sitting in the high chair watching.

Tell me this, what is the ratio of exclusive titles released by Microsoft and Sony in 2015? That should create a solid foundation of debate for who's just: "sitting in their high chair watching."

Personally I don't feel like their is a big winner who puts more effort into having more exclusives from their own studios this year. I only would give it for Xone this year because of all the hardware updates that I enjoy, from the new dashboard, early access, increasing number of gold games to bc. Doesn't mean I played more xone this year though =p.

The name. Not the game. Don't know enough about the gameplay to say it's generic looking or not. It is my most anticipated PS4 title.

The idea that Sony is complacent is utterly ridiculous.

Of course, they're succeeding right now, so that means they're now complacent and don't need to rely on their own games. It is obvious that they actually put thousands of workers out of job because they feel they don't need games from their studios... /s

Really, the things some of you say at times. -___-

Yeah the Xbox One rocked it this year. Sony needs to step it up in 2016, my PS4 has been collecting dust since April. ONE good game (Bloodborne) and that's it. What a disappointment.

Its called walking into a games shop and looking whats on the shelf. I am not going to do the research for you kid. Its plain obvious which console was delieving on there games and which one wasnt.

Dont get me wrong, i am not saying the PS4 doesnt have games but its heavly reliant on 3rd party games and Indies which bolster up there library. Most PS4 gamers are playing Destiny, COD, Fallout 4 and Star Wars, all games avaible on the XB1 while the XB1 has released 5 of its top tier franchices in the last few months.

You do realize that it's on you, as the one making a claim, to provide evidence to support that claim. No matter, some of us have already done the research.

I'll post a list of some of the games each console got this year that the other didn't. I say some and not all because I don't really have the time or the energy to list all of the console exclusives.

For 2015 the Xbox One got:

Gears UE

TR

Halo 5

Forza 6

Ori

Screamride

The PS4 got:

Bloodborne

Until Dawn

Tearaway Unfolded

NDC

The Order

Everybodys Gone to the Rapture

GOWIIIR

MLB:15

Helldivers

Fat Princess Adventures

Remember, these aren't full lists, and they use the absolute loosest definition of exclusive, but they illustrate the point quite well.

The PS4 got significantly more games than the Xbox One did in 2015.

So, I guess you were technically correct...it is pretty obvious who delivered this year.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I wouldn't put a "winner" or "loser" on either side, because I got something from both of them, and the company who offered me more just happen to have a little more of something I liked.

I'll leave the winning/losing debate for the sales chatter.

Alright then whatever makes you happy =p

Missed a few...

X1 got...

Rare replay

PS4 got...

Sword Art Online Hollow Fragment

Dragon Quest Heros

Disgaea 5

Final Fantasy 14 Heavensword

Sword Art Online Lost Song

Uncharted Collection

If you are going to pick apart a false statement that tries to claim that MS provides more for X1 than Sony for PS4, don't sell your argument short.  ;)

Now lets look at 1st party only...

MS has...

Forza 5

Forza 6

Forza Horizon 2

Gears UE

Halo collection

Halo 5

PS4 has...

Killzone Shadowfall

Knack

Infamous SS

Little Big Planet 3

Driveclub

Last of Us Remastered

Uncharted Collection

MLB The show 14

MLB the show 15

God of War 3 Remastered

Now lets look at games they have helped fund...

MS has...

RotTR (timed)

Titanfall

Sunset Overdrive

PS4 has...

Bloodborne (actually co developed)

The Order

Until Dawn

Street Fighter V (Feb 2016)

Now another thing I want to point out is that I even used retail games only to make my point.  Don't get me wrong, I like my X1.  But for anyone to sit there and say MS is doing more for X1 than Sony is for PS4 is either trolling or clueless so I had to lend you a hand here lol.
