Halo was not a launch title!
I think Wii sports has to be the winner here, no other game has sold machines like this.
Personally for me, super mario world. I bought an N64 (for £400!) for SM64 and a DS to play warioware though.
1. NES Super Mario Bros- everyone could beat a few levels on this game
2. Wii Wii Sports- everyone could do well at this game and it encouraged casuals to buy Wiis
3. Gamboy Tetris- the best puzzle game ever and it will always be the most famous portable game
3. N64 Super Mario 64- this game amazed the world as the competition had nothing like it and the main reason the N64 was not beaten even more by the PS

When I hear the words "launch title" I immediately think of Super Mario World. Gorgeous game that really showed off the system's abilities and gameplay that hasn't aged a bit.
"I feel like I could take on the whole Empire myself."
obviously people are having problems with their launch titles.
Halo is a launch title (from wikipedia)
Halo: Combat Evolved (commonly, Halo or Halo 1) is a first-person shooter (FPS) video game developed by Bungie Studios. The first game of the Halo series, it was released on November 15, 2001 as a launch title for the Xbox gaming system,[1] and is considered the platform's "killer application."[6] With more than five million copies sold worldwide as of November 9, 2005,[7]
Mario Galaxy is NOT a launch title as it was release ~1 year after launch.
anyways, back on topic.
1. Wii Sports - It sold me on motion controls
2. Mario 64 - It was the coolest thing stepping into 3D for the first time
3. Super Mario World
4. Super Mario Bros.

Powerstone, and all the Mario game that were launch titles, World, Bros. and 64 I think.
