Fatal Frame is based off Japanese lore, fine. But the camera, lost twin sister, sgo to forest to comit suicide. Its like a combo of FF2 and FF5. 

I'm pretty sure that's just a stereoscope like the Viewmaster Slide Viewer.

And the movie is set in Aokigahara.

The Forest is based on an actual place, I don't think they ripped it off at all,

The location yea, but the other details, like the focus on cameras and finding a lost sister. The plot/characters of FF2 are mixed with setting of FF2 are mixed with FF5

The camera traps spirits! Too much of a coincidence

I'm pretty sure that neither the writers, directors, actors or any of the staff involved have even heard of Fatal Frame.

BTW Going into a forest to commit suicide is pretty much a staple of Japanese society^^
