Spoiler alert: Microsoft enters the market

"and, for the time, advanced graphical capabilities" lmao

Be careful at the end, they will hit you with something you don't expect.

Did they miss something important worth mentioning?

Oh no you linked Linus, run for cover.

Still a good vid on a short explanation from start to the current gen of consoles, though I did notice he left out N64 and Dreamcast for some reason.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Maybe they left them because they needed time for the stupid advertisement they did at the end.

Is there a story about Linus I don't know? I mean, I don't know those guys, this was the first vid I've seen from them.

Eh Linus and other channels tend to do that these days since they were paid to rather than just link their sponsor, they found people would skip or adblock pop in ads (the kind that pause your YT vid to play an ad and then resume) and instead opt for ones withn the vid that you wouldn't pick up on until they started talking about said ad.

I wouldn't say there's a story about him, he's just a tech guy that happens to be a PC gamer (though I hardly ever see him playing PC games but he does talk about them and game companies whenever they show up within global news media and talks about them with Luke on his Linus podcast) and I suppose the part before the end of the vid is bound to pointlessly ruffle some feathers despite him throwing in that pro at the end with the con, though I guess the way he talks is bound to have people be upset with him.

I remember watching this vid last year on a debate that tends to go on and off on here (and nearly every other gaming site for that matter), it still ruffled feathers despite him trying to be clear on the subject: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FYyeas1Thw

So they covered 3DS...but not the DS... Right on! I get it.................................I don't get it!

Oh, even TV programs are doing that unavoidable advertisement technique nowadays. Thanks for the explanation.

Linus is great. He showed me how to build my PC and enable features. Thx for the vid!

No problem and yeah I figured at some point they would try thinking a way around it, though I have picked up on the way Linus talks so when he says things like "hey do you" or "speaking of", I know he's going to be talking about an upcoming sponsor/ad so I promptly just go to the enxt video or simply pause/close it since I've watched the content I want to watch. The bright side to his podcast is that he has linked time segments in each podcast vid description which also time links each sponsor per vid that you can simply skip altogether which I think was a nice touch than simply not linking it and having us sit through an ad (If only TV told you "hey there's an ad coming up in 5 seconds, wanna skip it?").

I am planning on building a PC down the line (I game on PC but with minimum settings) so I will look for that video. Maybe it will help me.

Oh I see, that's clever. It is part of human nature to run away from ads, and to create them I guess.
