We are talking about WW or WW HD? Beacuse WW HD definitely is more accessible and enyjible because of thing Nintendo changed, similar could say for OoT 3DS.

Yes, you can easily lost in Forsaken Fortress and now knowing where exactly you need to go, but ALTTP for instance almost whole game is like that. I guess ALBW is another good example for first Zelda game.

It was the Gamecube version. I know that with the swift sail and other changes things get better (a lot better, in fact, once I played the HD version I can't go back to the original anymore xD). But even then... is still a 3D enviroment. I know I'm stubborn, but I still believe that a 2D enviroment is better to start.

Yes, ALttP is probably one of the worst options to beginners. I tried to beat the game like two months ago and I needed a guide multiple times.

I am stubborn too. :)

My point is if someone prefer home console gaming, than WW HD would be best choice, if someone prefers handheld gaming OoT 3DS would be best choice. ALBW would also be good choice, but 2D handheld Zelda's are quite different than 3D Zelda's, that's why I think OoT 3DS is better choice than ALBW for first Zelda.

Well, it is clear that we are both really stubborn xDDD

I'll give you that if someone is used to 3D gaming in general and likes it, he/she could give WW or Ocarina a try. But if we're talking about someone who has no patience and preffer more simple games, starting with ALBW or Minish Cap is probably the best option.

Agree?

Of Course, but today people are far more familiar with 3D games than top down, top down could be strange for first Zelda game.

Maybe hyurile warriors to understand the universe

Don't know about you guys but the complex structure of Zelda games is precisely the reason why I liked, and why I recommend them. I doubt I would have enjoyed them nearly as much without the strong puzzle elements, they keep you alarmed and thinking without feeling overly taxing. I love it.

I miss the kind of games that mix adventure with puzzle so cleverly. In the end, which Zelda is the best to start with just comes down to what sort of experience you're looking for.

Of Course, but games and gamers today are very different than those 10-15 ago, I am sure that lota today's gamers would have hard time playing ALTP or MM for first Zelda game, and thats why I think it's better choice to start with some easier Zelda games like OoT 3DS or WW HD.

My Top 5:

1. Link's Awakening
2. Ocarina of Time
3. A Link to the Past
4. Skyward Sword
5. Ancient Stone Tablets

I've been reading your interaction with Miyamotoo and at first I was like "No way" and "But Link's Awakening and the Oracle games are harder than any 3D Zelda and ALttP so the list would grow quite thin", but then going by your last definition, I also agree that ALBW would be a good place to start.

You should take the preferences of the person you're introducing the series to into account. For someone with no patience A Link Between Worlds would indeed be a good start because of the rental system. Even though it's not entirely core Zelda gameplay it does allow someone to basically play almost the entire game by skipping things if he gets stuck somewhere.

As a sidenote, quitting The Wind Waker is incredibly weak of those guys because that game's the easiest of the entire series, maybe beaten only be the equally easy Minish Cap...
