If it's about Genesis then there is a secret ending that can be unlocked in DoC and with the Crisis Core Complete guide it explains what he does after awakening ...

Sure, why not, I haven't watched the movie myself but I've seen enough fight scenes of it to know that it would blend perfectctly with some gameplay attached to it.

No. The sequels to FF7, whether film or game, changed the ending. Ending of FF7 was great, well told and resolved the story perfectly. Dirge and Advent Children changed it to something else. Just let FF7 Remake be FF7.

Maybe SquEnix could spend their time on something else like making a new FF game instead. Shocking I know.

I sort of liked the definitive ending of FFVII, but then I wanted more FFVII and liked Advent Children.

i'd say start where ff7 started and end where ff7 ended. crisis core flashback szenarios inbetween, similar to the ff8 laguna loire parts, might be a good idea to expand on the overall story though.
