Well the Metal Gear Solid series is actually a good series. Gears of War 1 was the most overhyped piece of shit ever. Seriously 5 million people got ripped off of $60 off of that. And so many reviewers got their brainwashed by it. GoW 1 was terrible and if GoW2 is anything like it then it will be too.

MGS4 on the other hand I've seen a lot of and is looking awesome.

 Most unbiased point of view ever, lol. Both games will be great. But they will still be in the shadow of the king of shooters - Call of Duty 4.

MGS4 and Gears of War 2 IMO will both be system sellers are each a reason enough to go out and buy a PS3 and a XBox 360.
Comparing Resistance 2 with Gears of War 2 would be a fairer comparison because those two are similar in nature: both will be released in November 2008, both will sell over 5 million copies, both are FPS shooters, both provide excellent online gaming experiences and both will set high standards in graphical excellence
BTW MGS4 is a stealth shooting game, where as Gears of War 2 is a FPS game.

So, it seems hardly anyone noticed that the original post ignored the fact MGS4 will have online.

In their life times: Resistance 2 will outsell Gears of War 2. However Gears of War 2 will outsell Resistance 2 for the first year. I expect both games to be released in third week of November, probably on the same day.

  Resistance was bundled for around 4 months in Europe starting in July until the 80gb Motorstorm bundle came out. At most it sold 300k from that. The other 2.2 million sold came from the game getting bought independently. So please, don't be a fanboy.
