That's because Nintendo doesn't announce their games 10 years in advance usually. You'll be waiting a long long time before you get to play some of those games on Square's list. And they're pretty much all the same with some exceptions.

Let's wait until after E3 2016 to bump this thread again. Nintendo also has Genei Ibun Roku #FE, Fire Emblem Fates, Pokken Tournament and Pikmin 4 confirmed. Games you conveniently left out.

Games Square Enix announced in 2015 that are slated for 2016:

World of Final Fantasy
Dissidia Final Fantasy
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue
Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness
Dragon Quest Heroes II
Dragon Quest Builders
Project Setsuna
NieR: Automata
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Hitman

Square Enix can just as easily announce new games in 2016 coming out in 2017.

And not a single one of those games are similar to another one in the list.

So Nintendo at their worst is worse than Squeenix at their best... Huh...

Gamertag, PlayStation Network ID, and Nintendo Network ID: Look at username. Huzzah for originality.  3DS Friend Code: 4038-6546-0886

Currently own PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, GameCube, Wii, Wii U, Switch, and 3DS

the problem with that argument is that everything in Square's resume is the same genre

Nintendo at least diverges around a bit from platformers to action adventure to puzzle games to party games

also its an extremely unfair time to ask that question. the answer is still a big NO currently when you consider Nintendo's current development for both the 3DS and Wii U, BUT this is obviously by far the most unfair time to ask the question because Nintendo is very close to moving forward with another primary system for BOTH their handheld and console

the reality is Nintendo is most likely working on a lot of new titles that they won't announce right now because they don't want to upset the Wii U fanbase by saying "such and such is in the works for mystery console and MAYBE the Wii U"

another thing to bear in mind is that a company like Square-E, for whatever reason, seems to announce things WAY in advance. Final Fantasy has been in development for HOW long? and 'in the pipeline' doesn't mean will come out in any reasonable time

the reality is that Nintendo is obviously working on far more titles than Square Enix but, again, are not going to announce all of them early when they clearly for marketing purposes (and the Wii U) don't want to talk about the NX and its potential library yet

if anyone genuinly believes that Nintendo is working on as few games as they've announced publicly then that's just naive thinking. it's not a coincidence that Nintendo's 2016 is looking extremely empty in terms of software for the 3DS / Wii U at the same exact time that rumors are flying around that the 'NX' may launch at the end of 2016

I would say probably?

SE definitely does have a lot of great games coming down the line, but Ninten also has a nice list of games coming as well. I am def excited for games on both sides, and Ninten may have even more games down the pipe line if they plan to release the NX next year. That's going to need so great games as well, haha. So whether which one is better is a matter of opinion. Some will prefer one over the other, and some will happily take some of both.

You forgot handheld titles: Bavely Second (arguabbly Sqaure Enix but they aren't publishing so Nintendo gets to put this game on their list), Mario & Luigi Paper Jam, FE Fates, Metroid FF (It could be good, its too early to judge)

And also on Wii U they have SMTxFE which you forgot

To answer your question.... I don't know. If NX launches next year, then that will probably change things greatly.

I fail to see the resemblance between Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Dragon Quest Builders, Final Fantasy XV and World of Final Fantasy.

As a Nintendo fan, I must say Square Enix. I mean really, Amiibo Festival, Ultra Smash, Paper Jam!!! These games don't amount to FFVII:R, FFXV, Dragon Quest XI (PS4 Version), Kingdom Hearts III...I mean come on. If it weren't for Zelda U Nintendo'd have nothing to really show in the upcoming year.

PS: I still love Nintendo.

I think that's just the problem. Nintendo isn't just a AAA churning machine. Their biggest games are basically Zelda and Mario and every other gen metroid joins that list. That's not to say they don't make many other games but those other games usually fall into the AA or even A size category.

I mean Sony has just off the top of my head; GT, Infamous, Bloodborne, the order, uncharted, the last of us,killzone, drive club, horizon, Detroit, GoW...etc that are all games with budgets well over $30M. And this isn't even mentioning all the smaller PSN stuff like journey...etc. Nintendo just just isn't that kinda company. Its just not in their DNA.

it was with N64

Yes. Square Enix, THEN Nintendo. SE lineup is also better THAN Nintendo's.

Aside from that, there is also the fact that SE has games announced that will not be releasing for a very long time, unlike Nintendo, so that is another factor. Still, glad to see that SE is seemingly improving themselves this gen after having an awful lineup of home console games last gen.

That's a lot of milked rpgs. That's their what, 20th Dragon Quest game since 2015? I know Nintendo is milking Zelda, but Dragon Quest is a whole new level of milk. Romani Ranch Milk.

Two Pokémon rip-offs as well. A Minecraft rip-off. And who on earth calls their game 2.8 and expects to be taken serious? I know Nintendo comes up with some bad names, but this takes the cake. And really, most of these games are looking as exciting as Metroid Prime Federation Force (on that particular list). It's pretty obvious to me that Square has shot most of its bullets already.

Wake me when Square decides to make something that isn't an rpg.

yes current SE lineup is miles better than current Nintendo one.
