My final thought with regards to Faux Fantasy 7 is, "Square obviously doesn't want my money." Ah well, was a pleasant dream while it lasted.

It killed all the interest I had in this remake, luckily Dragon Quest XI will stay true to the series roots.

I would still wait maybe they will offer both or a classic mode as unlockable
| Azuren said: I personally love it. If they had kept the old ATB, it would be a modern gaming joke. The only reason AAA games in the past could get away with it was because they were focused on the cinematic effects of the game. In an age where that's standard, they have to actually be modernized in what is considered good combat- not turn by turn. |
I have bad news to you and probably good news to many others.
Look at the bar under the character names. What do you think that is? ATB bar! HP,MP and MB all have their own bars aswell. Theres a defend command. Theres a description of the attack command.
Eh... okey, I guess I'll save my money then. What's wrong with the ATB system? It would be a perfect opportunity to show a classic gameplay concept and introduce it to the general public. But, why not, let's make all the games action-based and samey. Jesus Christ. What a disrespect to the original game.
Making it have the original ATB, would be like not putting the FFVII Remake into full swing anyways.

I am waiting to see how summons works. That will make it or break it for me.
Oh I want to see the Golden Saucer too
There are plenty of good turn based combat systems and there's nothing inherently wrong with turn based. It offers something you don't get with non-turn based combat. That said, from what I've played of ffvii it's not a good example turn based combat and would need a dramatic overhaul one way or another. There were many older games that came before it with better turn based combat.
What people might have missed is that they did not show the player roaming around freely while attacking in the battles. They just showed them attacking and performing attacks and with each of their attack hit the meter beside their HP fills up which might suggest a limit in attacks per turn. So it might not be like FFXV nor KH.

Well, you know what I mean XDD. Keep the same gameplay, change the graphics to the modern era taking advantage of the PS4 hardware, but I don't know why changing the entire battle system, which made that game great, is a good change. I don't know, it seems odd to me.
