Forums - Gaming - The Game Awards 2015 No best shooter?

The Game Awards ended recently, and there were awards for a variety of genres. Interestingly enough, if you look at the website (http://thegameawards.com/nominees), there is supposed to be an award for 'Best Shooter', but that never got unveiled. The nominees were:

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops III
  • Destiny: The Taken King
  • Halo 5: Guardians
  • Splatoon
  • Star Wars: Battlefront

Now considering that the nominees are the same as the ones for 'Best Multiplayer' (which Splatoon won), swapping Star Wars for Rocket League, and considering that Battlefront was nominated for nothing else, I think it's safe to say Splatoon would have won, but I don't know.

Thoughts?

Yeah, I also found it weird that they skipped some categories, like best RPG as well, but at least that had a confirmed winner.

This show is just a mess.

If you listen very closely to when Witcher 3 was given GOTY, he listed all of its wins, and RPG of the year was one of them. But I do agree that the show was very shoddy work. Several of the awards felt like an afterthought.

They should've focused more on the awards, and getting the awards out there, rather than all these lame ads left and right.

I found that a bit strange.What I also find starnge is that some awards werent given on stage, and was just announced, without ceremony.I find it weird to do that in a awards cerimony.

Aren't awards supposed to be the point of an awards show? Not musical performances and stroking EA's dick with that 'green room' crap?

Seriously. A good chunk of the awards were just mentioned in passing. And this was an award show mind you...
