Those deathclaw scorpions are lethal even from long range.  I had a deathclaw kill me solely because Deacon decided to step in front of the three shots that would have erased the tiny bit of life it had left.  I watched in VATS slo-mo while the top of his head sprayed blood then the deathclaw had me.  She did that fatality move from the trailer, first time I'd seen it.

I also had a very annoying experience last night.  Sommerville Place (or however it's spelled) was under attack.  No problem.  I teleported in ... right in the middle of a pack of Supermutant Primus, who immediately started lobbing grenades.  Took four attempts to beat them, as they all focus on me.  Nice.

I use a plasma sniper rifle.  My one big complaint is that the projectile speed is so low that moving targets can be a problem.  I'm disappointed in the .50 rifle.  It needs a buff.  Laser rifles probably need a buff, too.

Someone came up with the interesting idea of using signs to block out lightboxes. (https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/comments/3wcjyf/use_signs_to_block_out_parts_of_lightboxes_to_use/)

Also, I wonder if this guy gets any slow-down:

Pretty cool idea, probably looks odd in day time. Much better than when I was trying to fit Sanctuary on my entrance gate. I think we need a bigger gate lol.
Wow that sign. Is that the Starlight drive in screen behind it?? That's massive.

The game is getting hard again. I'm lvl 61 now and while my damage and armor has been maxed out for a while, the enemies keep getting more hp. A full AP bar with the 362 dmg rail gun is not enough anymore to take down a lot of non legendary enemies. It also seems that firing without vats halves the damage I do. Crouching, steady aim, right on target, always half the damage as doing the same thing in vats.
I guess I should start investing in sneak and crit damage multipliers. With 5 headshots not being enough anymore I'm starting to burn through ammo and stimpaks at a high rate. Definitely not the same as Skyrim where I was so overpowered in the end I just needed to walk in the middle and start spamming free aoe destruction spells for anything but the end boss.

Anyway I'm working towards the end now, looking for the Institute. Exploring the glowing sea was fun, some nice things to explore yet no real hidden gems. It seems the terminals with interesting background stories thin out dramatically towards the end game. Preston and the Railroad HQ keep giving me the same shit to do, dead drop #3, MILA #5, oh someone kidnapped again from Sanctuary, guess what they're in the bookstore again. Next time I'll pay the ransom instead of another 4 load screens.

Valentine gave me a quest to do last night. It probably leads to another akward romance, but he has some interesting stories.

Stealth damage multipliers make the game much, much easier. I'm getting 4.2x with Deacon's perk + Ninja and most things, including legendaries, go down with the first headshot from stealth. It's not as overpowered as Skyrim's stealth, where an arrow from stealth could one-shot most dungeon bosses and lesser dragons, but it's killer against most humanoid enemies. I can often get off a few shots from "stealth" before they locate me, so the next guy running around the corner gets planted, too.

I really like the mechanism where legendary enemies 'morph' and get their health back, though, as it's a bit of a buffer against stealth being so strong. Toughest opponent I've yet faced was a legendary Mr. Gutsy who cleaned my clock four times. Gauss rifle shot from stealth wasn't enough for a one-shot, which means he'd instant regen and tear into me with a very powerful machine gun. I enjoyed the challenge, to be honest (if not the loading screens).

Also, I've got to say, ballistic weave is really overpowered. That's an additional 200 damage resistance. I'm considering not using the highest level with the hat. I mean, suddenly wearing my Newsboy Cap gives me 10x resistance over a combat helmet?

I am using a mod that will let me apply ballistic weave to any hat/clothing, now that I've unlocked it, so I might put it on a combat helmet instead. I'm not sure and I'm holding off while I think about it. I don't really like that you can only use it on a few pieces of clothing/hats, either. I want more variety, which is why I got the mod. Still, that +1 Str on combat fatigues make them really hard to resist.

I've been doing Railroad missions. Holding off on endgame until I finish those.

I found a pipe rifle that would have been awesome early in the game. +15 explosive damage on each shot. With 125 rate of fire, that's an amazing boost to DPS. Unfortunately, a fully modded combat or plasma rifle eats that alive at this point. A shame.

My every-day gun is a Cryo (+10 cold damage, freezes on crit) combat rifle that uses the plentiful native ammo. I only switch to the high powered .308 combat rifle when things get tough, as that ammo type is more scarce.

Oh, speaking of headshots, my perk from MacCready is bugged to hell and back. It gives me 95% chance to hit in VATS always. I think it's supposed to just be +15% chance to hit. Because of that, I ONLY use it if it's relatively in-line with the other ratios. If my chance to hit is 80% or so with the torso, I might go with the headshot, but if the torso or other limbs are like 60% then I won't use the 95% headshot.

It's a dangerous world.  Flying mole rats are no joke.  A couple of seconds later, a legendary mole rat knocked a car about 200 feet into the air.

level 1 no less, dangerous stuff! I haven't had any more cases of flying stuff, only some corpses that won't stop twitching.

Valentine's quest is a huge fetch marathon :/ 2 more tapes to go out of 10. I haven't found a cryo rifle yet. I did just find a +25% damage + limb damage combat shotgun. Need to upgrade that asap. No ballistic weave yet either afaik. My sneak damage is only 2.0x, so 1 shot kills are pretty rare now and all hell breaks lose after the first shot :) So yup, from now on my lvl up points will go that way.

Those loading screens are a shame indeed. Autosave and quicksave are getting slower too. And yeah I understand the reason why it would autosave at the point before you fast travel, yet dying not long after that you have to wait 2 loading screens instead of one to try again.
I made a nice challenge for myself today. I quick saved not realizing a suicide trooper was just behind me around a corner. Boom. Took me a few tries to get out of that one.

I don't really know how far I am, just got the transponder from the synth courser. The molecular level, have the chip analyzed to be exact.

I actually already had most of Valentine's tapes. I'd been looking for them already.

Is that the Terrible shotgun from the raft city? That place had an interesting and kind of depressing story behind it. I like running across stuff like that. That gun has crazy recoil even with a silencer but it's a monster.

If you have the Armorer perk at all, you might want to check and see if you can get the ability to add ballistic weave to clothing. I got it after doing a cache quest from PAM. Afterwards, Tinker Tom started selling clothes with armor added (only level 1) and I could add it in crafting. +100 damage reduction at the highest rank on clothes and a small selection of hats. Personally, I thought it was a bit overkill on the hats and only added +30 (rank 1).

They sent me back to University Point. God, such a sad place. That story of Jacq and the settlement is one of the best in the game and it's all told with terminals and notes. Really made me hate Kellogg and the Institute. I'm really, really going to enjoy shooting some faces after that.

I've started with my project to turn all of Sanctuary into one giant, connected building/city. Problem is, I have an AZERTY keyboard and my move forward, move left controls don't work in builder mode.

Yep from the raft city. That vertical settlement construction on the half sunken container ship is quite impressive. 'Nice' background story too.
I'm actually back to using the combat rifle now I have Mc Ready's perk and some points in the gun ninja perk. The plasma rifle does a lot more damage per shot, yet the combat rifle can pop of more than twice as many shots which stack in vats. Plus it's a neverending combat rifle, no need to reload. It seems the 95% headshot bug is the same on ps4. Pretty tempting to use when in a bad situation.

I need to check if clothes show up in armor crafting. I always sell or store them before going to the craft station, oops. Thanks for the tip about university point. I have been by that place yet haven't gone inside. Long load times always discourage me from trying doors :/ To come back to floating objects, I noticed this when I came back to Sanctuary:

Oh it's just Preston taking a nap

The game can be quite serene in the early morning

Ouch.  That sounds pretty tough.  I'm pretty sure I've seen remapping mods, though, if you want to go that route.

Haha, that's an awesome shot.  Preston is such a scamp.  It would be funny if he's secretly really into practical jokes.  Reminds me of the most awesome moment in Skyrim (for me) when I turned around to see a mammoth fall out of the sky.  My cow in Starlight did the same thing but it wasn't nearly as impressive.  No replacement ever showed up, either ...

The combat rifle in FO4 is really hard to top.  Very good power combined with very good rate of fire.  Good for single shots outside combat, good in combat, and good in VATS.  Energy weapons probably need a buff.

I kind of miss all the rifles in New Vegas.  I used a lot of different weapons for different situations.

Just some screens)
