I believe a Republican President is the best for your country, past has proven this point. 5 of the last 7 Presidents of the USA have been Republicans.

umm yeah. The best economic and overall situation our country has been in is when a Demoncrat, Clinton, was in office. Massive surplus, balanced books, lowest unemployment, good international standing...

I'm not trying to slight Bush's many fuckups over the past 8 years, but Clinton had the benefit of the tech & internet boom of the 90s to make him look good and the economy was faltering when he left office. Bush walked into a pretty bad situation when he was elected and 9/11 only made it worse.

But Bush is still a moron.

I can't tell if he's being serious or sarcastic... the general assumption is that it would be sarcasm, considering he called Bush a 'savior' instead of 'antichrist'

But honestly these days I just can't tell what some people are thinking.

Obama '08. This time we don't have to vote for the lesser of two evils, this time we can actually vote for greatness....

Can you please name a single thing this guy has done to deserve to be called great. Can you even name any of his policies?

The Religious Right despises the man, he's a fiscally conservative Republican, and he spent 5 1/2 years in the Hanoi Hilton.

That's enough for me. The dude is the Chuck Norris of Presidential candidates.

Can you back any of this up?  A fiscal conservative?  Are you serious, name some policies that he stood for that represents this.  Have you forgotten universal healthcare?  That is about as far from fiscally conservative as you can get.  Come on and NAME something, not generalities rooted in foolishness.

Obama sounds so much like Osama lol.
Anyway how would the world view the USA if it was led by a woman President? The Middle East countries would find this extremely difficult and might not take her seriously as a leader. We all know how poorly Middle Eastern countries treat women. Lots of novels and films portray the barbaric treatment of women in Middle Eastern countries.

I don't see the woman factor as a negative thing, I just don't like HER...! Hillary Clinton is as corrupt and inept a leader as they come in America. If we had a candidate like Margaret Thatcher, I would vote for her in a NY Minute.

Muslims attack us because they hate our freedoms whether there are Dems or Reps in office. How many times were we attacked with Clinton in office? What you think is just rooted in fantasy. Just look at Spain when they nominated that liberal over the conservative candidate to appease the terrorists and then they still got bombed. Terrorists hate us for our freedom and power.

Is it just me or are there a bunch of gross exaggerations about Muslims and their beliefs on this board lately?

Let's try not to lump all Muslims in the "I'm crazy, gonna Jihad your ass" group, people. Refer to extremists specifically, don't group an entire religion based on the beliefs of a few crazy motherfuckers.

...

I can't believe that, in a round-about way, I'm defending a religion. Shame on me.

I should have clarified:

"In comparison to Bush, he's a fiscally conservative Republican". That's what I meant.

PS. Don't even fucking try to infer that my beliefs are rooted in foolishness. If you want me to list some of McCain's policies, I can and will, but I expect people to be able to Gee-Oh-Oh-Gee-Ell-Ee that shit themselves.

Obama does seem like a nice guy,

But my issue is that since he has ties to that nutzo Hamas-supporting pastor of Trinity United Church in Christ, he might wind up being soft when he should be hard, and vice versa.

And that's aside from the fact he's the most liberal Democrat in the Senate....And that's saying alot

No way, Kusinich or Gravel would be the most liberal people in the senate, not Obama.

In responce to the topic, I'll be voting for Obama or Hillary (preferably Obama). I doubt I'll ever vote for a republican, especially after having 8 years of Bush in office..

Based on voting records, Obama was rated the furthest left. http://nj.nationaljournal.com/voteratings/

That is the stupidest argument I have ever heard. Only people who hate freedom are kings and other types dicatoral of rulers. So if you were to say that Bin Laden, extremist leadership, Islamic council in Iran, various muslim dictators, etc hate freedoms then yes, it conflicts with their rule. But to say that Muslims as a whole hate freedom and in specific, ours and that is why we are attacked is just dumb Bush logic, the same logic that conviced all you religious zealots who voted for his ignorant ass that Saddam was a huge worldwide threat amassing tons of weapons to take us over...bleh.

Bin Laden and others don't use our freedoms as ways to pursuade the ignorant to extremist actions. He uses the dire conditions in the Middle East, Palestine; and then uses the US as a focal point of blame for the tyranny of their dictators and Israel. Granted, we the US, do share a lot of that blame. As we spend a lot of money and arms to help keep these dictators and especially Israel powerful.

But, I garauntee you our freedoms are no where near the list of greivances the extremist uses to gain support.
