GoW rebooted to follow Norse mythology would be epic!

Cory Balrog already said last PSX that they are working in GoW IV, however, can't wait for the actual announcement!

You forgot (IMO) their most exciting 2016 title: Horizon!

But I seriously don't expect to see GoW4 next year. It's most likely 2017.

I'm hoping for Egyptian mythology.

We could be here all day making up plotlines for possible GOW games, and some of them may even give us something worthwhile experiencing with Kratos in the spotlight.

You say any sequel with Kratos as pratogonist is no good, I say it could work as it is possible it could be underwhelming.

When I said I had a kill-list with other gods I was referring to other mythologies.

Actually, the God of War creator David Jaffe himself had the idea of Kratos going beyond destroying more mythologies, Stig Asmussen from Santa Monica shared some ideas from David Jaffe (and some Jaffe made but Stig attributed to GOW2's Barlog:

"What David Jaffe talked about doing was — and I'm not sure how it would happen — basically, you destroy Greek mythology and then Norse mythology is right around the corner", Asmussen told GamePro. "That's the next thing that Kratos would go after. It becomes clear at the end that he's going to become this harbinger of death across different mythologies in the world and maybe carry the series on from there."

"Cory Barlog talked about Kratos becoming Death", says Asmussen. "He pretty much becomes the Grim Reaper at the end of the game and his blades become sickles. They're both incredibly good ideas, but you need a director to be passionate about the story and understand it intimately. If I had used Dave or Cory's idea, I wouldn't have been as passionate about it."

Sure, but in the end Kratos chose to die. He's done with this world and this life and he wants to be with his wife and daughter. And that's where I want him to be. Bringing Kratos back after the events of GoWIII ruins the ending of GoWIII for me. Jaffe may have had these ideas, but he's not in charge of the Kratos show any more, and with where Kratos ended in GoW III him specifically going a rampaging through other pantheons is not a good fit. Let someone else do it.

What's the motivation for Kratos to go on another god killing spree? He's got no beef with any other pantheon. Sure, you can contrive a return. Athena might not be a spiteful bitch out for vengeance on Kratos, though that would be not like the actual mythological Athena (ref Arachne's tale), but she's the last major god left Standing and yeah, maybe the Egyptians or Norse are seeing that power vaccuum and deciding they want a piece of the Greek action, and Athena has to rush of to Elysium and fetch Kratos to fix what he broke by killing the Zeus-Poseidon-Hades triumverate. Yeah, that can happen. It could turn out that Ares was manipulated all along by Loki, so now Kratos realises the actual cause of his pain was a Norse god, not one of his own, and so his lust for revenge is mightily rekindled. That could happen too. The question is, whether it's the best direction in which to take the franchise. I say no.
