You seem to have an idea of how supply and demand works but you seem to not like the idea of Scalping being looked down upon, whatever float your boat is fine and all but it's not a part of S&D and I'm still looking for hard concerete entries claiming that scalping is fully a part if not at the core of S&D and I'm not finding anything. I guess I'll ask my boss at work this week how he feels if someone bought one of his products for less and scalped them off to pundits for triple the price making more money than he did with his product.

I guess you also have zero idea on greed either but hey rgeed is totally legit safe and welcome though right?. Also we can totally go at this all day and night but you're taking this off the rails with yout intent to make scalping a legit happy go lucky thing when this topic is about STeam machines price, not scalping the pieces of a machine off like one user already suggested.

Just saying if you "scalp" something then either you are giving the customer a good deal or you have a highly desirable item.

You have got an item (supply) and if you are able to successfully scalp it to someone then their is obviously a demand for you either giving the other person a good deal or an item that is difficult to get a hold of.

Seems to be a good deal to resell the parts espacially the graphicscards

Sure if you're heavily into scalping and are only in it for the scalping business, good thing society looks down on that particular crowd though.

its called entrepreneurship

22 hrs later...

That's what you think, you think scalping regardles is a good deal or highly desirable and yet the actual core definitions are told differently for S&D and scalping in general.

You are lumping scalping an item to someone as being exactly the same as supply and demand and that is simply just not the case.

Scalping is more of a tact than an actual strategy, one that is looked down upon at the end of the day.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

You keep saying that as if it matters?

Many successful business pratices are looked down upon.

The price and basic specs for each of Syber's three Steam Machines follow below.

Steam Machine I -- $299 (originally $499)

  • CPU: Intel Core i3-4160
  • RAM: 4 GB DDR3
  • HDD: 500 GB SATA III
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 1 GB

This is still a good deal slower than a PS4 though.... I think above would out perform a Xbox One by a tiny bit though.

Shame its a 1gb model of the GTX 750, and the system doesnt come with 8 gb of memory.

If the 750, had been a 2gb version and the System memory was 8gb,..... it would have been pretty close to the PS4 with slight overclocks on the gpu.

Honestly though... with these prices atleast you arnt completly ripped off.

Your basically in the same "range" of peformance as the PS4... even if just slightly below it.

It's really not even what scalping is.

And you're trying to equate scalping as if it's a sound one that shouldn't matter?.

End of the day it is not under the definition nor sub definition of Supply and demand nor being an entrepreneur.

Of course we're arguing this because for one you think it's sound and fair and you dont see anything wrong with it which is why you defend it, that much is made clear to me and it;s why I'll never agree and my findings tell me that scalping is not under supply and demand and yet you are telling me it is as if it's a fact so you are also telling me that all other documented sources are lies.

If it had a 750 ti, then we'd be tallking! As it is, if you're gonna buy one of these, Steam machine P is probably your best bet. It has better specs than my machine, AND it's cheaper than I built mine for.

EDIT: Just checked the site, and it actually comes with a 960. It was still a good deal for those specs, though.
