Forums - Gaming - Digital console sales for Fallout 4

So we found out Fallout 4 shipped 12m units in one day a few days ago but now we know that it sold 1.87m digitally in three days, minus the 1.2m that were sold on Steam that only leaves 0.67m sold on XBL and PSN.  Again this is one day vs three and yet the digital sales on consoles amount to so little of the total sales.

What do you think about digital sales on consoles being ~5% of the total sales?   so small?

Edit: Read the source wrong, thought it said 12m sold to consumers but it says Bethesda wouldn't confirm if it was 12m sold to consumers, that's what happens when you skim articles, but that doesn't change the fact that the digital console sales are still small.

12 million is shipped, not sold.
We have seen many reports saying that console digital sales are around 15%.

Perhaps a comparable game would be The Witcher 3, that had 25% digital ratio, much of it on PC.

1. Shipped
2. Physical sales are higher than all of digital together so it's not a good comparison to talk about just the console digital sales.

Minus how many you think are on store shelves, the number is still small.

Nuh-huh. Digital is 90% my friend.

so you

1. divided the digital sales numbers by the physical shipment numbers

2. made the assumption that 0 units of those shipment numbers are from pc even though that clearly isn't true.

3. conlude that a digital sales rate 5.6% based off of 2 assumptions that both decrease that number is disappointing even though regardless of the percentage it still amounts to most of a million in sales with is more than some games sell in total across all delivery methods.

what i think is you are trying to hard to downplay things.  digital certainly isn't predominate against physical but neither is it insignificant.

I already edited the OP before you commented.  Thanks for linking that, I thought I read this game was sold exclusively on Steam, the digital PC code is higher on the best sellers than the physical PC game meaning PC took an even bigger part of the total digital sales meaning the console digital sales are less than what I thought.
