Forums - Gaming - What are you reasons for saying Zelda U will be able to compete with PS4 type visuals?

LSD induced vision?

cell shading with HD textures. maybe not like Uncharted, but it will be better than any playstation exclusive thats for sure.

As a PS4 owner that usually plays AAA games... I agree. Zelda is looking just as good as most AAA's on PS4/XB1. Of course, it won't match Battlefront's details and textures, but overrall the game is on par with most games out there, and it's not just cause the artstyle is amazing.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

For people saying no one ever said it (what OP claim), we have at least 2 (or 6) people on this thread claiming it.

It doesn't compete, games like Horizon blow it away.

I think you made that up.

Art is subjective. I think Wind Waker HD looks better than most Wii U/PS3/XBOX360 games and that's just a remastered gamecube game.

The same game running on the PS4 would have a serious advantage in terms of the power available to do post processing image cleanup amoung other things.

Yes we get that to find it pretty is subjective... but it isn't that the point of the OP and not what some were defending here. That was more on the technical side.

Numerous high-profile journalists had no qualms about claiming that Mario Kart 8 was the most visually appealing current-gen game this time last year, so I don't see why Zelda should be different. It's not like it has to be the new standard for 8th-gen visuals or anything, it just has to look... well, as good as any other first-party Wii U title to date.

If Zelda looks better than Mario Kart, then it stands to reason that in the eyes of anyone who claimed that MK8 was the prettiest 8th-gen game last year that it also looks better than Ryse or Infamous: SS.

Actually, it wasn't even "this time last year." Here's a clip of Jared Petty from IGN about 7 months ago saying "Mario Kart 8, for my mind, is the best-looking game of the current generation right now."
