Forums - Gaming - Sega is considering ways to re-release Shenmue 1 & 2

I'm amazedthe Dreamcast classics dried up after a few. I really expected the likes of Shenmue and Skies of Arcadia to hit just after the first wave in 2012.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Just some simple ports that add widescreen and speed up loading would be fine. Its Japanese games, nobody expects them to look or play well.

you can add simple shaders and HD textures as well. People have been doing that already on the Dreamcast. Should be easy for people that do it for a living already.

Updated controls would be nice, as would increasing the draw distance so people don't fade in so noticeably.

they really need to put them on steam, along with Skies of Arcadia. they would all sell really well

Hi

Good. The first two are too expensive as they are anyway. They could use a good devaluation for collectors, and I could use a physical PS4 release of both games.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Ive been having trouble getting into the first one, I think it's something you had to play in its own time to really appreciate, which isn't exactly unusual.

Having utterly loved the game and completed it several times over within a few weeks of the UK release back in 2000, I wholeheartedly agree. I couldn't imaging this type of game working now at all.

All they need to do is retouch the visuals a bit, then release them digitally on PSN, Xbox Live and Steam.

Well hopefully this third one retains the style and charm of the first two to please the fans who have been begging for a third installment for over a decade while updating it enough that nostalgia isn't a prerequisite to enjoying it.

Given how much the fanbase has been dying for this, though, I do hope they prioritize their desires over the rest of us; I hate when a new installment of a favorite franchise overhauls itself in an attempt to appeal to new players and winds up alienating everyone.

HD ports are now a challenge for sega

Where the fuck is my Skies of Arcadia port you hinted at YEARS ago along with Shenmue? Fuck you Sega

Round 2 for the Dreamcast ports was literally 2 games. Thanks
