That variant is not at all how he has described his role, moreover the wiki says it is overpowered.
Even more overpowered when he says it only weakens after being used.
Zero says his ability can block kills and after too much use results in a chance of him dying.
That is very unlike the variant you pointed to.
The variant says
50% chance to stop the kill, survive, learn who attacked.
50% die.

Zeros is
100% chance stop the kill
After x uses
Some unknown chance to die.

And finally, a bodyguard cannot target itself, that is nowhere to be found in the variant

But like I said, I can always just watch zero tonight and see what's really going on.
