Forums - Gaming - Reasons why the PS4 could win October's NPD

Do you think these reasons are good enough for a ps4 win?

yes 175 49.02%

no 95 26.61%

maybe 65 18.21%

see result 22 6.16%

Total:357

This thread really shows the staggering amount of Sony fanboys this site really has.  To the level of saying anything positive about Microsoft and their consoles gets you a down vote.

It might have a chance albeit a slim one though i wouldn't bet on it. It will depend on PGW, if they cut the price then it might. But if xb1 ever win october it wont be as big as other thought it would be.

Last year the XB1 closed the gap (in the US) by I believe 700k and I have do doubt whatsoever that it's not going to close the gap by that much this year.

That's right, I think it's 400k+ for nov and 200k+ for dec. Though last year they go firesale and their bundles were much much better than what they have now. So if MS wins oct and dec, (i think ps4 will take nov) guess it wont be as big as last year where they cut the PS4 lead in the US by half in 2 months.

I don't know. XBone will win in NA, sure, but is Halo big enough to push the system against the PS4 in Europe? With Japan ignoring the XBox brand, and european XBone sales not being that great (at least compared with regular PS4 numbers there), will the XBone sell enough systems to close and surpass the gap? I think the PS4 will take the lead, even if it's just by a couple hundred units.

This is about npd. Not Europe.

Sorry. For whatever reason I was thinking globally.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Apologies for being off-topic, but would you be so polite as to explain where this term originated from Henry-San? I have seen this before and understand its meaning. Just not sure as to how it came to be. Much appreciated in advance!

No problem. "Globally in the US" is a phrase coined by former user TheDrill, when he was describing how the XboxOne would overtake the PS4 in sales, first in the US and then Globally. His original comment was dubious as he stated it would sell globally from "there", but the implication was locally as in the US, rather than temporally, or after that moment in time, which seemed like his intention.

However, it is his response that led to the VgChartz meme: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6307186

in a nutshell:

It's funny for a variety of different reasons. My favorite is that it unintentionally comments on the common view, at least here in the states, that US is the center of the gaming world, if not the actual world.

The nostalgia~~

Good times, good times~~

No, the Xbox One will take the Holidays and win NA in that span.

Why? Because my bet depends on it. Now stop jinxing things!

Come on Xbox One is going too win this one hands down. Halo Halo Halo Halo Halo Halo Halo Halo Halo Halo Halo Halo!!!! #HaloSells

Didn't PS4 win TF month too? I expect the XOne to win October but I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't.
