Bloodborne, the Evil Within, Knack, Pro Evolution Soccer, Resident Evil Revelations 2, DoA 5, Bayonetta 2, Dragon Quest heroes, Bladestorm Nightmare: whats wrong with those graphics? And there are soon coming more AAA titles from Japan next year.

You cant really blame a game like neptunia and other japanese games for the way they look? its their art direction, in fact japanese are more flexible in designing their games. They can still design 3D visuals who look decent for what they were aiming for.

With the western devolopers its like either AAA or 2D indie games more they cant do.

Western games have better story? no

Western games have better graphics? at what measure? Bloodborne has the best graphics ever made, on average if you count all the western indie games its also not.

I'd have to agree that Western developed games have better stories overall. I have only encountered a tiny handful of quality stories told in video games and the last time a Japanese game's story impressed me at all was Silent Hill 2.

Also, Bloodborne's graphics aren't even that impressive for the PS4 let alone when compared to PC gaming which is dominated by Western developers.

Considering that it can't even run at a consistent 30 FPS it's really not the best looking PS4 game (although it is pretty impressive, I will admit that statement is unjustifiable).

Japanese, but really just because they generally make better feeling games. Like, mechanic wise. It feels better to move around in japanese games than western ones. Very few western devs understand game feel and kinesthetics.
That's why I'm so up Sucker Punch's ass. They get it. Same with the Dying Light guys.

OMG, I saw this thread and had an answer pretty much instantly. I red the OP and had pictured how to phrase my answer. Then I saw your post and it is almost exactly what I would have written.

I cannot imagine toilet-free life.

Kebabs have a unique attribute compared to other consumables. To unlock this effect you need to wolf down a big ass kebab really fast, like under 10 minutes or so and wait for the effect to kick in. If done correctly your movements should feel unbelievably heavy to the point where you literally cannot move at all.

I say both equal for me, but I prefer japanese games a little bit more.

You know what they say, all Caucasians look alike.

Well, my favorite games/franchises are Persona, Steins Gate, Danganronpa, Zero Escape and Fire Emblem... Tough choice for the poll :D

steins gate has video games? o.o omg i can finally meet my crush makise kurisu ^^

Steins Gate IS a visual novel originally, the anime is an adaptation ;) The VN is way better IMO (I played it on Vita btw), you have more explanations, more dialogues, Okabe's thoughts, alternative endings (and they are awesome!), and overall I think the key moments are managed better than in the anime. But for a 8-10 hours long anime and a 30 hours game, it's obvious ^^.

What does it matter if it runs on 30fps which is pretty much the standard for consoles.? Bloodborne could run on 60fps on PC but it wont because its an exclusive, you have to wait for a remaster on PS5. Bloodborne has the best graphics for being open world unlike the Order for example, i except Uncharted 4 having also a lot of limitations. Horizon might kick it.

These results are somewhat surprising considering how poorly Japanese developers have generally fared since the sixth generation. Personally, I enjoy both pretty much equally.

They were bad on console, but great on handheld.

Most western developers ruined the industry with their DLC greed and cinematic experience obsession since last gen so...

Certainly Japanese, almost all of my favourite games are from Japan. My favourite Western games are by Naughty Dog.
